YES I MISS OUR BAND.

I'm afraid it will lose power if I start talking about my close encounter
there was the australian open on tv.  straight vodka. an empty bottle of chateuneuf dupape on the coffee table a lot of curly hair and a lot of bottles of vitamins. and a chat about fingers being sore at the begining of a tour; finger and arm massage and talking about venus's awesome legs. and me talking about how straight vodka will kill you as it was trying to do my boyfriend and then the stress became too intence the phone was ringing off the hook so I just ran away down the stairs.  my boyfriend didn't believe that I didn't do anything nasty so he eventually started spending night away from home and started drinking vodka again and a year later he died from alcohol poisoning.    I couldn't make this shit up

oh and then I got a pick at Atlanta from Keith during oh no not you again
and a handshake at phiilly 2002 from Keith along the catwalk and a great
thing happened at the b stage at Giants.

I'm a very lucky gal.  Ican't complain. I wish I could give something more back
for the music and the times. Its hard to go back tomundane reality after such as that

Mick (w/ Jerry)...in Barbados (or St Lucia) at the airport...my high school band was touring the carribean on a cultural exchange program...I was 16ish

Keith, Ron, Darrel, and the wives at National airport (DCA) as they got off their plane...I was catering the plane upon arrival...Mick jumped into his limo...the other (not Charlie...he was MIA)...into a large van...this was the nite before the two shows in DC for the No Security tour...

Charlie made it up to me...I managed to catch a drum stick form the B stage...

while I am in confession mode.

I have to say that in 2001 I read the biography of Keith and having read
things that made me think that he was telepathic, I decided to try and send a message to him as primitive as it was, being so carried away with the book I just finished and unhappy to be done reading it, I rubbed the carpet in my music room and said, here I am rubbing your back, here is my name, L-I-S-A and looking at the pic on the book said, if I ran into your lips I woulf bite that lower lip so fast, and then that song came out, "you bit my lip and drew first blood and warmed my coldcold heart you wrote your name right on my back and boy your nails were shapr" and that is why I was in awe, I had to know about this communication that was so phenomoenal and that is when I went up to Boston for the opening of the licks tour and that is when I had my close encounter of the most unusual Kind.
If it hadn't been for a strong emotional bond, I doubt I would have gotten thru on the radar as I did.  It still intrigues me to this very day but I doubt I wll ever be satisfied with understanding how it occurred.  It was merely strong feelings in telepathy and I am very grateful that someone was able to receive it from me as I was in quite a lot of psychological pain and neededto give lthis great love away to a better receptor. and I am so glad I did

Argh. Okay...I met Mick very briefly a couple of times in the late '70s. I met Woodie and Jo as well in the late '70s. I met Keith a couple of times in the early '80s, once on the street and once in the building where he lived on 4th and Broadway. I was with a lawyer friend who was visiting someone who lived there, and as we were leaving, this door opened and Keith and some other guy came walking out. He was so close that we almost walked into each other. I was taken by surprise and rendered speechless and felt my knees get weak. Back then I always dressed in black, and that day I had on leather jeans and boots, shades, and my hair was literally cascading around my shoulders. Even I gotta admit I looked good. Keith takes one look at me and says "Hey little rock and roller," and keeps on walking.  All I could do was smile and blush. I think I walked around with that smile for the rest of the day. Hell, I probably walked around with that smile for the rest of the YEAR.

Then last year in Lisbon I met Charlie. I've got a pic of that, as some of you know...lol (my one shot with Charlie and I look like hell, but hey, what can ya do).  That same day I met Chuck and Blondie, and have pics with them as well. Two days later in Madrid, I met Lisa and Bernard, and have pics with them. Mick flew by me in the hotel lobby, so I wouldn't call that a "meet". Then Keith came strolling out of the elevator and I got to shake his hand, mumble something, and see that famous smile of his. We got a couple of shots of his back as he was walking away from us. See the above post by Gazza (my partner in crime) for a more detailed description of Lisbon/Madrid.

Thanks again for the great thread, LJ.  Smiley
I hate telling my stories, but I love reading everyone elses...lol. Cool

And LJ, we are so lucky to be awaiting news of another Stones tour in the year 2008. Who'da thunk it?

About time you made that story public. I cant believe only a few of us know it and even then we have to prise it out of you to your total embarrassment.

Damn! You Guys Are Lucky!

The closest I have ever gotten to the Stones is:

Charlie Watts sent me an autographed 8 x 10.  I was really excited until someone told me that he signs a bunch of them, and then later a secretary adds the fan's name.  And, yes, if you look closely, you can see that my name was added with a different black pen.

I went to Bill Wyman's Sticky Fingers restaurant in London.  The cook actually came out to shake my hand and meet me!

I spoke with Chris Jagger on the phone when he was on tour in Australia.  The conversation lasted less than 2 minutes, he hung up as soon he realized I was a "crazy" fan.  (Chris Jagger is Mick Jagger's brother.

I'd love to think that, Keef, but "Little T&A" was recorded in '79 and released in '81. I checked...LOL.

Gazza wrote on Jul 4th, 2008 at 6:59am:
Keith - a handshake at his hotel in Madrid last June. Almost shat myself when the elevator door opened and he was standing there. What an entrance. No pic with him but photographed him (see the 'Madrid header' thread on this page). I mumbled something to him, which was probably incomprehensible to any other human being. I know Keith is prone to slurring gibberish at times, but this was proof that being within touching distance can make mere mortals like us have the same effect.

Mick - same day. Wouldnt call it a 'meet' though. He was a bit evasive and wouldnt stop...although he briefly did when a couple of young girls caught his eye.  Roll Eyes

Charlie - Amsterdam 1995. Helped stop him from almost falling over outside his hotel after he leaned back to return someone's pen. Sent him a birthday card a few months later and he sent me a signed photo. Met him with GTRM in Lisbon last year and chatted with him for a few minutes, and got a photo together. He was intrigued by my George Best t-shirt. He remembered us when he saw us again in Madrid 3 days later. An absolute gentleman.

Mick Taylor - met him after a show with John Mayall in Belfast October 2004. Chatted with him for a few minutes and got a pic. Unfortunately he kept his shades on.

Backing musicians (all with pics)
Bobby Keys , Paris 1995
Darryl Jones, Paris 1995 (30 mins before the Stones went onstage. Had a chat about a Sting concert in Belfast that he'd played at a decvade earlier and which he clearly remembered)
Bernard Fowler, Amsterdam 1995
Chuck Leavell, Amsterdam 1995/Lisbon 2007
(Chuck's a very nice dude. We were in the Hard Rock Cafe and he was walking past with his wife. We went outside, chatted with him, and the man was gracious enough to wait for a few minutes while I went back inside and borrowed a pen from the bar staff)
Lisa Fisher, Madrid 2007
Blondie Chaplin, Lisbon 2007

Some of these pics have been posted on here before. some havent. maybe I should dig some out.

By all means, dig 'em out!
