30 years ago tonight I was prepping for the 78 Tour's 4th of July appearance in buffalo.

No idea that the following day I'd meet and chat with Mick in his Hotel Room for about 30 minutes.

Hard to believe.

He was so cordial to us.
2 18 year old adoring fans. And Mick could have been a real prick

He wasnt.
He let us into his room!!
He then proceeded to make conversation as we, clearly, were unable to speak.

Mick Jagger jumped on his couch and did "The Mick/Rooster Dance" for us.
"Did ya like me show?"

"Yes, Mr Jagger."

Yep..Mr Jagger...what a fucking nerd I was.
A great memory.
Many of you have heard my story.
I spent quality time with Mick.

was at press conference in Melb for Voodoo Lounge, but was too spooked to ask a question.
Some dick asked what he thought was a 'funny' question, and Mick reamed him..

then i passed the mic to someone else, no way was i gonna give the Stones, my heroes, a chance to hang crap on me and my question.

Keith - a handshake at his hotel in Madrid last June. Almost shat myself when the elevator door opened and he was standing there. What an entrance. No pic with him but photographed him (see the 'Madrid header' thread on this page). I mumbled something to him, which was probably incomprehensible to any other human being. I know Keith is prone to slurring gibberish at times, but this was proof that being within touching distance can make mere mortals like us have the same effect.

Mick - same day. Wouldnt call it a 'meet' though. He was a bit evasive and wouldnt stop...although he briefly did when a couple of young girls caught his eye.  

Charlie - Amsterdam 1995. Helped stop him from almost falling over outside his hotel after he leaned back to return someone's pen. Sent him a birthday card a few months later and he sent me a signed photo. Met him with GTRM in Lisbon last year and chatted with him for a few minutes, and got a photo together. He was intrigued by my George Best t-shirt. He remembered us when he saw us again in Madrid 3 days later. An absolute gentleman.

Still havent met Ronnie. Or Bill. Although I have signed copies of Ronnie's autobiography and Bill's "Stone Alone" and "Rolling with the Stones".

Mick Taylor - met him after a show with John Mayall in Belfast October 2004. Chatted with him for a few minutes and got a pic. Unfortunately he kept his shades on.

I kissed Marianne on the hand at the end of her show in Belfast a couple of years ago..then immediately realised that the same hand had been in contact at various points with the genitalia of 3 of the Rolling Stones.   (not Charlie's, though)
I was next in the queue for food to Anita Pallenberg at the Rattlesnake Inn before the final night at the 02, although I didnt speak to her.

GTRM and myself also met the lovely Mr Cohl in Madrid although we elected not to get a pic. In fact, GTRM , when I alerted her to his presence, called him "that rat bastid" within earshot.


(Edit - I omitted to mention I got to ask a  few questions at a Q&A with Andrew Oldham in 2004 and met him afterwards, where he signed his books and posed for a pic or two)

In 1998, the day of my birthday, I KNEW THAT I HAD TO MET BILL.
And things happens if you really want.
I said to Bill: "Bill, this is the first time I took a plane in my life, i really have fear to seat up on the sky. But I was sure that it worth a dime. I came from Italy and I'm rolling stones fan..." I looked a fool meanwhile I was draw some toungues on paper...
And Bill,:"wow"
And I: "I made a lot a comic draw on the Stones..." I was talkin a lot, tryng to tell him 34 years spending in  stones loving...
And Bill ;"Wow"
"Sometime ago I answered to Willy De Ville if he ever  met the Stones, if he likes Keith, (Willy + Keith = my idols) but he said that the  only really good person in The stones family he met was BILL WYMAN, a very gentleman!!!"
And BILL: "WOW!!!!!!!"    
 

One day of october of 1988 I had an inteview with my first idol ,KEITH, in hotel in Roma, andd at the end I jumped  in front of him and I gave a kiss.

And I saw that he had an herpes on his mouth!!!!

i met ron wood at his book signing last holloween in nyc at the barnes and noble store at broadway and 17th st..  he shook my hand.  this was a very hurried event..it was like ok now move along, move along now.  there were a lot of people at this event. 
i hope to meet keith richards at the same place if and when he ever comes out with his book
