'I'd never let my daughters marry a man like Mick Jagger,' says ex-wife Jerry Hall

She put up with his womanising for 20 years but Jerry Hall insists she would never want her daughters to date a man like Mick Jagger.

The pair, who have four children together, were one of the most celebrated couples of the eighties but the Rolling Stones' frontman's roving eye was almost as legendary as his musical talent.

She revealed she would 'never' want her daughters - Elizabeth, 21, and Georgia-May, 15, - to be in a relationship like the one she had with Jagger.

...
Choose wisely: Jerry Hall says she would warn her daughters Elizabeth and Georgia (in London in 2005) off men like her former husband Mick Jagger

She said: 'No, never. But I don't think they would. They have far more confidence than I did, and they have great boundaries. It took me longer to learn those.'

Hall conceded she had put up with the star's behaviour for too long.

She said: 'I always thought he would change, and that was my big mistake. People don't change, unless they really want to, and you can't make them. I probably stayed with him for longer than I should have done. All I can say is that I really loved him, and he really loved me, in spite of all the other women.'

The couple wed in 1990 in Bali more than ten years into their relationship, but the marriage ended in 1999 after it emerged Jagger had fathered a child with Brazilian model Luciana Morad.

Jagger had the marriage annulled on the grounds that the Hindu ceremony was not valid either under Indonesian or English law. It is understood Hall was awarded as much as £12.5 million in the divorce settlement.

Hall also revealed how her abusive relationship with her father left her with very low self esteem and that affected her willingness to stay with Jagger despite his repeated infidelity.

She explained in an interview with Psychologies magazine: 'I was brought up in fear, and that really shapes your character. I suffered from low self-esteem for a long, long time. Our father came home from the war having seen a lot of terrible things.

'He came back so damaged. And then he worked driving long-distance trucks, and he'd take all these uppers to stay awake. He'd get into violent psychotic rages. He thought he was still in the army and he would line us all up in a row and shout horrible, awful things, and he'd beat us badly.'

The former model is currently penning her autobiography after signing a reported £1million worldwide deal with publishers Harper Collins.

Last week she raised £28,000 for homelessness charity Emmaus after auctioning off old designer outfits from her wardrobe, including her wedding dress.

The short white Antony Price garment was bought for £2,420 by Steven Philip of trendy vintage store Rellik.

Hall said she did not find it difficult to let go of the item, particularly because the wedding had been annulled.

She commented: 'It being annulled made it a lot easier. I'm hoping someone else will have more luck than I did. It feels great.'

Still a hottie after all these years. I'm 32 y/o; I'm approaching the age when I can say things like that. I'm old. And I'm going to die in some time. We're all going to die. Why must we be rude to other people, instead of giving a little sympathy? The state of things makes me feel so sad I might start crying you made a grown man cry

Money isn't everything.

Oprah Winfrey had a personal assistant for over 10 years.  When, the assistant decided to quit, Oprah offered her ONE MILLION DOLLARS to stay. But, the assistant refused, and left anyways.

Sometimes, your self-respect is worth more.

And, what about the health issues?  There is no cure for AIDS or Herpes!  If he got that Brazilian model pregnant that means he wasn't taking care of himself, and if he likes to gamble with his life, well that's him.  But, I think Jerry thought that she and her kids deserved better than that!

Hasn't Lizzie been videotaped having sex with George Best's son Calum in a nightclub? Metinks Jerri's words don't stick.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but she seems like one of those type of woman who are only interested in the $.  If that's the case (and I don't know that it is) then she deserved to get screwed over, IMO.

One thing Jerry says which is the absolute truth ~ you CANNOT change another person, and think you can change their ways after you are married. People make this mistake all the time! The old saying holds true, you cant change a leopards spots (or however the saying goes).

She is right to warn her daughters about men like MICK, but ultimately they will make thier own mistakes, and women are attracted to men who remind them of their fathers!
