Its decent enough, but if he absolutely had to play just ONE song off that album, its pretty much close to the bottom of the list.

Details for Bob Dylan - The Very Best of the Original Mono Recordings (2
Created by Ratio: 16,329,924,211.00dapperjon 2 days ago
Music : Folk : Lossless
Amazon Review

The mono sound on this disc is solidly perfect. The first 5 tracks, a sampling of Dylan's earlier, predominately acoustic work, have the perfect balance between vocals, guitar, and harmonica. The sonic balance is much better than the old harshly-panned stereo mixes.

Track number 6, Subterranean Homesick Blues, is the turning point on this disc; this is where the mono sound really kicks into high gear. Electric Dylan in mono is, well, electrifying. Like a Rolling Stone is more powerful, and Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 has a lot more punch than the stereo mix.

There are parallels between this release of Dylan's catalog and The Beatles' Mono Box Set. Both have been carefully remastered from the original mono mixes, and the resulting sound is pristine. Thankfully, neither has fallen prey to the 'Loudness Wars' like so many other 60's and 70's remasters. Dylan, like The Beatles, Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys, and others focused predominately on the mono mixes up until the late 1960's.

To me, it's an easy pick: given the choice between hearing Dylan in regular (non-DTS) stereo and mono, I would take mono in a heartbeat. It's simply that good.

Thanks to the original uploader.

Enjoy.

02 - Blowin' In The Wind

Caught the Dylan show last night @ Monmouth University.

Really nice show, highlighted by a haunting 'Not Dark Yet'.
Dressed in black with the obligatory wide brimmed white hat, Dylan pecked out notes on guitar on a few tunes, but was otherwise content to add some calliope-esque keyboard fills.
Of course the harp got busted out - to BIG cheers - on a couple of occasions, most effectively on the latest reworking of 'Tangled Up In Blue'.

The NET band remains a well oiled machine, but the horsepower added by Charlie Sexton's return is a welcome one, imo.
Seems that Bob likes the extra muscle, too.

Also worth mentioning were the subtle but effective visuals. Especially liked the slightly delayed B&W overhead band shot during 'Thunder On The Mountain'.

BTW, I saw another notable Columbia recording artist in attendance...

Check out 'Not Dark Yet', courtesy of Expecting Rain.

Last nights show was fvcking incrediable! I was really happy with the setlist and the small size of the venue, plus you could roam around because it was General Admission. No liquor, since it was a college campus, but not a college kid was in sight! It was mostly older fans, and it's cool that it sold out. OK I took some great pics and videos that I'm going to get ready to post!
