Been spending some time with Tell Tale Signs this week.  There's some pretty great stuff on there.  Anyone have the 3 disc version?  Anything particularly noteworthy/worth acquiring somehow?

As much as I don't like to steal good music, the price tag on the deluxe version is ridiculous since I'm only interested in the music and not the book/packaging.  so buying it is out of the question for me, though I'm open to alternatives in this case.  But since most of the songs are repeated from the first 2 discs or live versions, I haven't really been curious enough to look very hard.  I doubt I'd listen to the 'bonus' disc more than a couple times, though the standard version is mostly fantastic

I own it. Theres some fine stuff on it, and its on a par with discs 1 & 2, but not to the extent where its worth the ridiculous price tag for the 3-CD version.

As far as i know, the price HAS come down quite a bit if you look around enough, but overall, you're best to try and get disc 3 from a  file sharing site.

Good show last night!  Sexton {or something) has awakened Bob!  Must admit Sexton did it for me!!  There was much more movement on stage.  Bob was actually gesturingwhile singing  and even coming front without a guitar strapped on. Musically, I thought the last performance in Dayton was probably tighter than this one,  but there is much more interplay between musicians, which makes it much more interesting.  Desolation Row and Ballad of a Thin Man were much enjoyed by me, but Gonna Change My Way of Thinking and Jolene were the best performances of the night though!

I just have one complaint.  Why did every damn  over 6 foot giant come out to see Bob last night?!!  I've never seen so many giants in a room and every last one of them decided they had to get right in front of me!!! Angry

Meg, happy you got a good show! Glad to hear Bob is moving around a bit more and having some fun with the band. Sometimes Bob just goes through the shows with very little emotion, but if you get him in the right mood, Bob lights up the stage with his brilliance! The man is a series of contradictions, which is what makes him so interesting!

I tell you it's a brand new Bob!!!!

Frankly, I am ready to walk to those last three NY shows....LOL

Meg I really understand about the 6-7-8 foot tall monsters that always stand in front of me....it sux to be short!  With the pain I am in I've started sitting in the handicap section instead of being down in that madness.  I do NOT miss that.  Not being able to see is no fun for anyone.

Isn't Jolene swingin' n awesome!  I LOVE it.  Glad you got GCMWT for the opener.  It's such a cool tune.  I am taking Bob's suggestion from that one!  I'm very tired of the influence fools have had on my life.  I'm done with that. Thanks Bob!

3 days.......how will you SLEEP LB?  LOL

Bob's the MAN!

Let's swing!

xoxoxoxo,
Martha

My personal notes of the set from the show...

I was beat by a phone call to Pagel...clearly, I was out performed  Roll Eyes

My absolute favourite was my first ever Hattie Carroll! Great renditions of Million Miles and Hollis Brown (tour debuts for both, I think). Disappointed w/ Cats (think my 3rd opener with that); a poor Thunder on the Mountain -- sung way too fast, imo; only Jolene from TTL. Nice to see him with guitar on Lay Lady Lay which, along with Hwy 61, were the crowd favs.
