Random question:  besides I Shall Be Released back the 70s, does Dylan ever do any Basement Tapes material live?

Thank you, Dylanologists.

I saw him play the only ever live version of Million Dollar Bash at Brixton Academy in November 2005.

Gorgeous, calypso-style arrangement which he absolutely nailed (one of three world premieres that night) - and then the contrary bastard never played it again.

Yea Heavy and a Bottle of Bread was done at one of the three London theatre shows in Nove, ber 2003. Down In The Flood was a regular tour opener in '95.

He did Dont Ya Tell Henry at that guest appearance at the 1971 NY Eve show with the Band at Carnegie Hall. Its included, with 3 other songs featuring Bob, on the expanded CD version of 'Rock of Ages'.

This site fills in the gaps - http://boblast.blogspot.com/2008/10/basement-tapes-songs.html - if its marked 'X' its currently in and out of the set.

Cheers.

First time played since 1980, apparently!

I'm sure some people will read something into that!

Christmas album is out here today. Didnt know this until I got a text as I was leavin' work today. Managed to pick it up on the way home - and made sure I texted the wife to remove all sharp objects that were lying around the house before I got a chance to listen to it later tonight.
