Hi LuvGlimmerTwins,

According to Chris M.'s webpage there is not much over from the Exile sessions to be release.

http://www.rollingstonesnet.com/Exile.htm

Even if it was, I doubt Sir Jagger will put it out.

What is it, with bands like the Stones and the Floyd, not wanting to release the older outtakes, or the music that is not 'perfect'?  Are they so insecure that they  are embarrassed to release material they consider less than ideal?

We all are, today, what we are -- because of where we have been.  What's wrong with that?

The record companies are missing out on huge sales potential by ignoring what the true fans desire Wink

There will be exciting new stuff.

Chris is half-right, although in fairness to him, hindsight is a wonderful thing. There's maybe not much in circulation - and what there is generally dates from 1970 and NOT the sessions at Nellcote - but the fact that it's now been confirmed that there'll be at least three songs that no one has ever heard before, and two of them have never even been rumoured, augurs well for this release and any future dips into the archives.

Its unrealistic to expect a shitload of unreleased, completed songs to exist from the sessions for a DOUBLE album which came out just a year after their previous release, and taking into account the fact that about half of the songs were originally recorded or worked on in 1969-70. Most of the vocals on Exile were only finished when they went to LA at the end of 1971 to do overdubs. I would imagine that by that stage they had a shortlist of songs which would have been pretty close to the 18 that were eventually included, so its a fair bet that most of the songs which didnt make it that far weren't finished.

No...it appears that eleven unreleased songs have been mixed and will be released.

We only know the names of 3 titles so far - that information came from a previous article.

So, it would appear from that number that we'll get those 11 songs on a separate CD. Its expected there will be DVD content as well.

Gazza,
Do you think the DVD content could indeed be the long awaited official release of Ladies & Gentlemen?

well, Urban Steel has several thousand Stones clips uploaded on to You Tube, and a few weeks ago he was contacted by the Stones legal people to remove some of them due to copyright issues.

The ONLY ones he had to remove were from 'Ladies & Gentlemen..'.

So - maybe thats a good sign.

I've heard talk of a documentary as well.

The way they have disappointed us with fan club DVD's makes me suspect it'll be something pretty worthless...but maybe they'll surprise me!Smiley

These are really goods news !
Much more than I ever expected, after a half dissapointing Get yer ya-ya's out! re-release, where we are still missing video shot from some of the tracks, like Midninght rambler, live with me and other.

I think we all have seen L&G a couple of times, I got my first video tape with really good quality in the 80's.

I have actually uploaded both the DVD and soundboard on the RO Tracker month ago !!!

Have that one, thanks.

Was just goin' through what outtakes I have and whilst I've most of the studio material that are out there in some form, there are a few which I only seem to have on tape as opposed to CD.

I'm in the process of doing a studio sessions page for this site, so detailing what IS available is a good excuse for tying up a few loose ends.
