I have a general question.  If I download from the RO tracker, I make sure to seed for at least as long as it took me to get the torrent.

But on public sites like Pirate Bay or Hunger City, I often delete the torrent straight away, in part to shut my wife up about my downloads slowing down the computer, despite explanations that torrents do not slow down the computer.

Does this make me an asshole?  Or a pussy-whipped asshole perhaps?

If you aren't going to make an effort to keep a decent share ratio, then you should probably acquire them elsewhere.

It basically means you must upload ( share ) at least as much as you download. If a torrent is 500mb in size you must upload ( share ) 500mb to maintain a 1:1 or 100% share ratio...............

It's generally considered good torrent etiquette to at least share back as much as you downloaded, if not a little more...

Hi, newbie here.  Actually, I've known about RO for years and forgot about it and came back and saw this question and thought I'd join so I can answer.... lol!

Here's an explanation that I use at another website when someone asks the same question:

"Your ratio is simply the amount you've uploaded divided by the amount you've downloaded.  If you achieve a share ratio of 1.0, that would mean you've uploaded as much as you've downloaded. The higher the number, the more you have contributed and
to do that you need to seed (upload) the shows that you've downloaded so that others can leech (download) from you."

A lot of torrent sites have "share ratio enforcements" where they ask that you keep your ratio at or above a certain number and if not, they won't let you DL from there anymore until you share and get your ratio back up.  So the best thing to do is, even if you've finished DLing a torrent, is to just keep it on your BT client and let it seed for a while.  Also, it's good to change your BT client settings because some are set by default to stop seeding once you've finished DLing or when you seed as much as uploaded.

Like StonesFanatic said, it's basically good torrent etiquette because it's all about sharing.

Hope that sort of explained things.

And Straycat87, thanks for that DVD info at Hunger City. Smiley

???? Btw, if I see a new torrent for a Stones show go up somewhere on other torrents sites, do I just post the info and link in this thread?

If it's not uncouth to make requests, does anyone have "A Tour De Force" (Jacksonville 75') , "Dancing With Mr. M" (Glasgow 73') or "How Come You Taste So Good" (Antwerp 73').

Thanks in advance.

Hope someone more in the know can help me.
I'm trying to find out more about a bootleg 10-disc set called 'Rolling Stones - 40 Years in Business -A Rocks Off exclusive'.
It's a fine set with 2 discs dedicated to Brian's era, 2 discs of MT's era, the rest are RW.
The art shows up here
http://www1.tip.nl/~t397422/www/index.html

I contacted Kees.  He only knows what's in the art.  Anyone able to add more info?

Thank you kindly in advance!

Wow!  You have, indeed, added to the 'lineage' of this bootleg, Marko.  Thank you most kindly for that.  It is most enjoyable, by the way.

Was it produced for any special reason/occasion? How was it distributed?  Do you recall the order of the 10 discs? Are there any other details you remember about it?

Thank you for assembling such an interesting set, and for any other information you may add.

It is a treasure!

Appreciatively,

I can't remember who did the artwork, but yeah it was someone from the board.  I think it was a guy from Australia, although he hasn't posted here in a few years.

If you click on 'details' on the artwork page on that 'Tumbling Dijs' site, it gives the artwork and the track listings with the sources, eg : http://www1.tip.nl/~t397422/www/index.html

Thank you, all, for the responses.

What I was trying to do was to get this listed at LMPP or db.tree, so I was trying to do some 'homework' <vbg>.

The art available on the internet is in thumbnails.  If anyone can share some in a higher resolution, it would be most appreciated Wink

When done, it would be my privilege to share it here!  Most of it sounds AWESOME!  What a fine production, Marko!

Oops.... seems like the files for Tropical Windsong got damaged somewhere along the way.
For some reason, I get an error when I tried to decode it.

I've asked a mod to remove it.
Apologies to anyone who DLed it.
Next time I'll check the files before I upload anything.
Sorry.... Sad
