Jagger went missing on Oct. 4. She believes thieves may be holding the dog for ransom.
A Woodland woman told the Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office that her missing dog may have been stolen and is being held for ransom.
Jennifer Thomas told police her dog, an English Bull Dog named Jagger, went missing on Oct. 4. The dog is valued at $1,900, the sheriff's office said.
According to a sheriff's office bulletin, Thomas received a series of text messages from an unknown caller on Oct. 8 offering to trade the dog for prescription medicine and cash.
The sheriff's office has an investigation ongoing for theft and extortion. It asks anyone who has information related to the case to call Deputy Laura Thurman or Chief Deputy Corey Huffine and 360-577-3092.
