BOSTON — A former public bathroom in an historic Boston park is being turned into a sandwich shop.

Don't get grossed out. The 660-square-foot "Pink Palace" on Boston Common built in the 1920s hasn't been used as a restroom in decades.

City officials announced Tuesday they have agreed to a 15-year lease with the Florida-based Earl of Sandwich chain for a takeout operation at the site. The goal is to open the shop later this year or early next year following renovations.

Boston Parks Department Commissioner Toni Pollak says the project is a chance to preserve the historic mausoleum-like structure while bringing new life to the Common.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Shelby, N.C. man says he has captured video of Bigfoot.

Thomas Byers e-mailed WCNC NewsChannel 36 in Charlotte, N.C., saying he saw Bigfoot walk across Golden Valley Church Road in Rutherford County Tuesday evening. Byers' says he was about 15 to 20 feet away from the creature when he captured a five-second video.

"It ran across the road and into the woods right in front of us and I was able to film it," Byers wrote. "In the short video you can hear it snarl or growl at me."

Furthermore: "One thing I know is the smell of it was horrid. It smelled like a cross between road kill and a skunk. And it did not like the fact that I was there on the road with it. In the video you can hear it snarl or growl at me as it crosses the road."

Matt Hardigree — This is Karin Mackaliunas of Scranton, Pennsylvania. Police found — upon searching her after finding a connection with a minor burglary — 54 bags of heroin, cash, empty bags and assorted sundry pills in her vagina.

Karin Mackaliunas of Scranton, Pennsylvania could be a character on The Office — if they had a character who stuffs 54 bags of heroin, cash, empty bags, and pills in her vagina and then crashes a car. Bloated much?

Mackaliunas was about to be released after a car crash earlier this month when police connected her with a minor burglary at a local hotel.

After a search police found three bags of heroin on her, but that's not all she had on her (in her?). While being driven to the police station an officer noticed Mackaliunas was fidgeting. After a more thorough search a struggle ensued and the suspect asked to speak to an officer and admitted she had more. Inside her vagina.

The total take was 54 bags of heroin, 31 empty bags, eight-and-a-half prescription pills, and $51.22 in cash. There are so many questions here. What's with the half-a-pill? Why not just carry the empty bags in your jacket and put the rest of the heroin in your lady business? Doesn't have a purse or a wallet?

She's been charged with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance
