Joey?
The old Soviet Naval command reunited with the old US Naval command involved in the Cuba missile crisis. They both reminisce about those days. The US naval command offhandedly remarked how superior their Naval assets were at the time and how they were able to push back the Soviet Naval threat.
A former Soviet Naval commander stood and addressed that US Naval command about the submarine cat and mouse game that was played during the Cuba missile crisis. The US Naval command acknowledged they recalled that event. That former Soviet Naval Commander claimed he was aboard that submarine, involved in the cat and mouse game, and he was its' Captain. The room became very quite.
That old Soviet Naval commander stated his submarine was armed with nuclear torpedoes and ready to fire those nuclear torpedoes at the US Navy ship dropping depth charges. Yet, to get the "order" to launch a nuclear tipped torpedoes required 3 yes votes. He voted "no." Had he voted "yes" all 4 Soviet Submarines would have fired their nuclear torpedoes.
The end of the world, our man-made apocalypse, was adverted by one man. His name was, " Vasili Alexandrovich Arkhipov."
An awkward silence fell upon the two former adversaries when they both realized how close they came to starting WW III. Just imagine, if WW III had happened during the 1960s, our world today, would look very much different.
