I don't know.I kind of hope his next project is a solo acoustic tour. Never saw any of those shows in the past. But as I get older(and mellower) the idea appeals to me now. Plus I have a boot from the Christic institute benefit show, that's all acoustic and piano and it sounds great. I know you guys like the SSB....But pleeeeze not that again. Interesting stuff Ronnie!

It Takes A Big Man To Help Little Kids Rock

Musician, author and E Street sax master Clarence Clemons – aka The Big Man – will become the first recipient of the “Big Man Of the Year Award” later this month during a special event in New York City.

Yes, we said “author.” Clemons has written a book – “Big Man: Real Life And Tall Tales” – the first book by an E Street member describing the inside story of what many have called (including Springsteen) “the world’s best bar band.” Co-written by Clemons’ friend Don Reo, “Big Man: Real Life And Tall Tales” arrives in stores Oct. 21.

Clemons will receive the inaugural “Big Man Of The Year” award one day after the book’s release on Oct. 22 during the “Right To Rock” benefit at NYC’s B.B. King’s Blues Club. Proceeds from the night’s event, which includes several performances by special guests yet to be named, will benefit “Little Kids Rock,” an organization that helps fund music education programs in public schools throughout the country by providing teachers with free musical instruments and training.

“More than 50 percent of kids who play an instrument go on to college, yet music education programs at the inner city public schools who need them most continue to be hit hard with budget cuts,” Clemons said. “Little Kids Rock has responded to this problem in a really big way and made a positive impact on the lives of literally thousands of low-income students who wouldn’t have otherwise had the opportunity. I strongly encourage those who are in a position to do so to support their cause and spread the word about this inspirational program.”

There will also be plenty of music biz bigwigs attending Clemons’ big night, including Fender Musical Instruments CEO Bill Mendello and Mary Luehrsen, director of government relations and public affairs for NAMM, which used to be known as National Association of Music Merchants.

Speaking of Fender, the night will also include an auction featuring the company’s famous guitars and signed by such folks as Eric Clapton, Elvis Costello, Phil Collins, Mark Knopfler, Chrissie Hynde, The Doobie Brothers and Ringo Starr

I would put my money on the next project being a solo acoustic tour. If its as good as the D&D shows were, bring it on. The one show I saw on that tour (Dublin) was breathtaking.

But a VERY tough ticket when he chose to play theatre sized venues (which is obviously the size of places most suited to that type of show - I cant imagine being miles away at the Meadowlands was much fun)

Yeah, that "shut the fuck up" show at the Meadowlands Arena was awful.
Far too big a venue, even if it was a "theatre" configuration.

I'd guess another solo tour, too.
But I wouldn't mind a smaller, rootsier ensemble either...

New song is very good - thanks for the file, Meggie. The horns towards the end remind me a bit of the solo at the end of 'Secret Garden'. He'll probably never even find an outlet for releasing this song, either, the talented little bastard.

Have a great time Friday, Bitch - and anyone else who is going to these shows. Lucky sods.

Second of five at Giants Stadium, 'Darkness' night.
'Wrecking Ball' opens again, the "recession pack" is noticeably absent, and 'Long Walk Home' returns.

Requests included the often-as-not 'I'm Goin' Down', a rare 'Be True' and the debut of 'Jailhouse Rock'.

The bar's been set mighty high for the next three...

01. Wrecking Ball
02. Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out
03. No Surrender
04. Outlaw Pete
05. Hungry Heart
06. Working On A Dream
07. Badlands
08. Adam Raised A Cain
09. Something In The Night
10. Candy's Room
11. Racing In The Street
12. The Promised Land
13. Factory
14. Streets Of Fire
15. Prove It All Night
16. Darkness On The Edge Of Town
17. Waitin' On A Sunny Day
18. Raise Your Hand
19. I'm Goin' Down
20. Be True
21. Jailhouse Rock
22. Thunder Road
23. Long Walk Home
24. The Rising
25. Born To Run

26. Cadillac Ranch
27. Bobby Jean
28. American Land
29. Dancing In The Dark
30. Rosalita

Nice.

"Dream Baby Dream" apparently was soundchecked as well. Jesus.

GL's setlist watch never seems to include it when he does 'Raise your hand' and they seem to have gone home for the night before 'Rosalita'. How difficult can this be?  Roll Eyes

Nice setlist. I'm sure it was great show. But one small quibble. Since he's doing full album's of BTR and BITUSA. I don't know why he plays stuff from those albums on other nights. I know Born to Run is going to be done every night. But he could give TAFO and TR a rest on nights when he's not doing the whole album. He also did half of BITUSA last night. Come on Bruce, open up the songbook and try some different material.

OK here's my report for the October 2, 2009 show at Giant's Stadium.  The usual traffic and rip off parking, rude crowds pushing and shoving. Hey this is Jersey, we got alot to be angry about! Apparently during the show, a big fight broke out in the GA area because the Security Guards gathered in force and threw a bunch of people outta there. It didnt bother me I was in the seated area by choice. Wow I got the DARKNESS set, that was a nice surprise! When the song requests were picked out from the crowd, JAILHOUSE ROCK made the setlist! BRUCE announced it was the first time for them playing that song, yet the band seemed to pull it off perfectly! I love those virgin songs, and I loved hearing Wrecking Ball. The song is OK, not great, but the sentiment is nice since it's a homeboy tune. Here's the killer ~ people outside the stadium were selling extra tickets for $TEN DOLLARS EACH!!! Can you believe it?? Wow if I didnt have responsibilities I would be at every show scalping cheap tickets, but my kids are on my ass saying I'm going to too many shows. Ugh, kids! ANyway, my videos are up on Youtube, have a look!
