After my last show of this tour - my 29th ever plus a guest appearance or two - I did a count of how many songs I've seen him play. The ony studio album I've seen in full was 'Born To Run'.

The full total was 194 songs - 31 of which are unreleased (all covers apart from 'Little Things That Count' (1996)

Wow. Just, wow.  ...

I can't even remember how many times I've seen Bruce, let alone the number of different songs he's played...

Yeah, it was reportedly soundchecked last week in Chicago.
Those that heard it say it's new, and not Neil Young's 'Wrecking Ball'.

Maybe it'll get played tonight and we'll find out for sure...

And they're off - with the new tune!

"Take your best shot, let me see what you've got. Bring on your wrecking ball..."

From www.nj.com:
Tonight's concert by Bruce Springteen and the E Street Band started, around 8:20 p.m., with a new song written specifically for the occasion: "Wrecking Ball."

It was a rousing anthem, where Springsteen offered his memories of the Meadowlands ("where mosquitos grow as big as airplanes," he sang) and asserted that life will go on "when all this steel and all these stories drift away to rust," "all our youth and beauty have been given to dust," and "all our little victories and glories have turned into parking lots."

"Bring on your wrecking ball," he sang in the chorus. "C'mon take your best shot/Let me see what you got/Bring on your wrecking ball."

Lyrics scrolled on the videos screens, so that his message would be perfectly clear.

Looks like a pretty cool selist for the opening night of the GS run. Dig the fact that he wrote a song for the occasion. That's gotta show up as an add on to some release at some point. Didn't get a chance to setlist watch tonight. Besides the fact that BTX was a bitch to get on tonight. I had a choice between setlist watching with the Boss. Or go out drinking with the boss. (MyCEO). Well I love Bruce, but he ain't picking up my bartab anytime soon.....But can't wait to see the rest of the shows. Although the full album thing takes a bit of fun out of setlist watching. Huh

Gazza, it may have been that one.  Was it run by a Dutch guy who was a med student?   The site was excellent.   What year did it close?   It is very sad if the founder died.

Do you recall Dylantree?  That was an excellent site also.

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band
Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
September 30, 2009

Nakamichi 300 cardioids (Chopped)>battery box> Edirol R-09

Nice recording from the lower level. Crowd is very good with the exception
of an occasional clapper. Wind was blowing the high end aroiund a bit
and it seemed to me that the sound quality varied from song to song, but
overall an enjoyable recording of a fun show. There is a small glitch
at the end of 'Wrecking Ball' due to level adjustment.

Enjoy!

Yeah Wrecking Ball was written especially for Giant's Stadium since his show will be the last at Giant's Stadium before it gets wrecked. Cool, this song may also apply to The Spectrum in Philly where Bruce is also closing down the house before that gets wrecked too. Alot of our stadiums are being replaced with newer, better facilities and I am in full support of it! Yay! This BRUCE show tomorrow night will be my last at Giants Stadium too! I hate that place, there arent enough bathrooms and there is never any toilet paper! Hahaha the ladies know what I mean, right?  I gotta remember to bring some tissues, lol.

Anyone else from ROCKS OFF going to Friday night show at the Meadowlands ~ if so PM me please!? It isnt sold out yet, they still have tickets for sale. Hopefully it wont rain until the show is over, rain is predicted during the evening hours. I hope the new venue has a roof! I'm sure BRUCE will change up the setlist since there are multiple shows here.

No idea what the guy did for a living. Both his site and dylantree were 'tree' sites, which operated similar to the 'trees' we used to do on here before torrents become more widespread. I think joose.org closed about 4 years ago.

I certainly do. Horn sections in the past have always added a lot to a ESB show (one of the reasons why I love the Tunnel of Love tour) - that, plus the Big Man isnt getting any younger and a bit of 'support' sound-wise wouldnt go amiss.
