Well I'm back...somewhat reluctantly after reading the comments that came after my review of night #2. First of all, let me make one thing perfectly clear. I did not,will not,never have. Make a post for the sole intent purpose of stirring up shit on an internet message board. If anyone would care to read more than one or two of my posts (a tall order I understand). That is not my style. I realize I don't know any of you personally and have only had the pleasure of meeting a few in person. But I am one of those few who think that fighting on an internet messeage board is an insanely stupid waste of time. What I am is an emotional guy who wears his heart on his sleeve. Not a hell of a lot of mystery to me. When I posted that review and made the comment that Springsteen is a better live act than the Stones these days. I had just finished traveling 3000 miles for the sole intent purpose of catching 2 live Bruce Springsteen shows...And they were 2 of the most incredible live shows I have ever seen. Was I trying to stir up shit on a Stones board. No. I was giving a review on the one ongoing Springsteen thread. Honestly I met a hell of a lot of nice people back east who are both Stones and Springsteen fans. If you notice in the picture I took with Nellie. I'm wearing A Stones shirt. I didn't think it was neccessary,but allow me to present my Stones creditials. 19 live shows. Not all of them great,but most of them were. Including the No Security opening night which I have said is my very favorite show ever and taken crap for saying so. I don't have every Stones album,but I have all the good ones and a few not so good. I don't have every boottleg,but I have several good ones and a few not so good. LJ I have no desire to fight or argue with you. But if you can't handle a little criticism about the Stones than you are way too sensitive. Try spending a few minutes on IORR. It will take you at least that long to find a positive comment about the Stones.....BUT I still stand by my original statement. Their is now way in hell the Stones can come anywhere close to matching the two Bruce shows I saw this weekend. But if they tour next year will I go see them. FUCK YES.

The small group of rock 'n' roll artists who have received the Kennedy Center Honors award will grow in December, when Bruce Springsteen joins the club.

Robert De Niro, Dave Brubeck, Mel Brooks and opera singer Grace Bumbry will also receive the award, Dec. 6 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The day happens to be jazz pianist-composer Brubeck's 89th birthday.

The gala will be taped for a two-hour TV special, to air on Dec. 29.

"With his gritty and honest songs that speak to the everyman, Bruce Springsteen has always had his finger on the pulse of America," said Kennedy Center chairman Stephen A. Schwarzman, in a statement.

President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama will host the honorees at the White House before attending the gala with them at the Kennedy Center.

Presented annually since 1978, this award honors lifetime contributions to American culture. The 163 prior recipients include Frank Sinatra, Leonard Bernstein, Fred Astaire, Luciano Pavarotti, Henry Fonda, Ray Charles, Bob Hope, Jack Nicholson, Elizabeth Taylor, Bob Dylan, Johnny Carson, Stephen Sondheim, Chuck Berry, Steven Spielberg, Barbra Streisand and Aretha Franklin.

Cracker, Wayne Kramer, and more to play for melanoma awareness
On Saturday, September 19, musical artists from an array of bands will honor the late, great Danny Federici with a concert in Ashburn, VA, to raise awareness for melanoma research and the Danny Fund.

Headlined by Cracker, The Danny Federici Festival will be held at 12:30 p.m. on the lawn of the Toll Brother’s Belmont Country Club as the final event of the Loudon Summer Music Fest’s 2009 lineup. In addition to Cracker, other acts scheduled to appear at the event are Jason Heath & The Greedy Souls (of which Danny's son Jason Federici is a band member), The MC5’s Wayne Kramer with Gilby Clarke from Guns 'N Roses, Counting Crows members David Immergluck and Charlie Gillingham, Blue Oyster Cult members Joe and Al Bouchard, Alice Cooper Band member Dennis Dunaway, The Ike Reilly Assassination, Low Stars, Chris Joyner, Jay Nash, Alexa George, and more.

Gates open for the event at the Belmont Country Club at noon on Sept. 19, with the concert beginning a half hour later. Tickets cost $40 for Gold Seating and $30 for Lawn Seats.
