Report on btx that Bruce busted out 'Burning Love' in Santiago, Spain.

I've long hoped that he'd bring back 'Wear My Ring Around Your Neck'.
Suddenly it doesn't seem like such a pipe dream...

Yeah not bad Meg. Not far off from the Linda Ronstadt version. Bruce does have several numbers that have a country feel Kind of like the stones. I'd like to hear the rest of the Fogerty BRR new album as well.

Got an e-mail from the Sommet Center today:
The Bruce Springsteen & The E Streed Band performance scheduled for September 10th at Nashville’s Sommet Center has been rescheduled for Wednesday, November 18th. All tickets for the original September 10th date will be honored on November 18th.
ON SALE NOW at Ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, LiveNation.com or charge by phone- 800.745.3000.

As an added bonus for the Nashville audience, the band will be adding “Born to Run” in its entirety as part of the evening’s full set list of Bruce Springsteen favorites!

Bumped back two months, plus a full BTR?
Guess ticket sales were really soft.

But - it might lend credence to the rumors that the tour will extend into December...

IT AIN'T OVER 'TIL IT'S OVER: MORE TOUR DATES ADDED
Three new tour dates were announced today, including two after the Nov. 18 Nashville show:

Fresh from playing Born to Run in Chicago, the band will play the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, IA, on September 21. Tickets on sale August 22.
Bruce and the band return to Baltimore, MD on November 20 after a long absence (since 1973?). Tickets for the 1st Mariner Arena show will go on sale September 25.
The current final date for 2009 is November 22 in Buffalo, NY in the HSBC Arena. Tickets on sale September 12.
The press release announcing the dates was issued with the headline "Bruce Springsteen And The Legendary E Street Band Finalize Remaining 2009 Tour Dates." So, things are shaping up for Buffalo to be the final stop for 2009. That could change, of course, but we don't know of any credible rumors to the contrary.

Dont think theres much chance of the Bruce tour continuing beyond Christmas, as Clarence has already gone on record as saying he's going for his surgery by then.

He's exhausted the market in the US as it is over the last two years.

There's a possibility that The Big Man could postpone his surgery, especially if the band will be taking an extended hiatus after the tour is over.

But in light of soft ticket sales outside the NE Corridor, it seems that the market is indeed exhausted.

Sympathise 100%, mate. However there are still loads of gaps early in that tour itinerary - ample opportunity, had they wished to, to have added a few dates in those areas. If its not going to happen in Sept/Oct 2009, I can't see them coming back in early 2010 just to play half a dozen shows.

Places like Des Moines are markets where he hasnt played at all. He's played California and the sales were OK, but not generally sell outs (close enough though but unremarkable considering he only played three shows in California)

April 01 San Jose, CA HP Pavilion ................16,713 / 17,196........97%................$ 1,535,889

April 15 Los Angeles, CA Memorial Arena.....combined with below..94%
April 16 Los Angeles, CA Memorial Arena......31,080 / 33,094.......94%.................$ 2,807,010

The only American city with a smaller % of tickets sold than LA was Greensboro - 89% (17,234 out of 19,462), which isnt a bad return for a small city which he'd visited just 12 months earlier.

For a place the size of California, that's comparitively slow. Surprised they didnt play San Francisco/Oakland though on this tour.

To get some perspective, he played 27 shows in North America in April-May. 17 sold out with all but Greensboro being 94-99% sold. 16 of the shows were on the east coast.

Here's the full list of American shows for the rest of 2009 with onsale dates :

August 19 Hartford, CT Comcast Theater (On sale now)
August 22 Mansfield, MA Comcast Center (Sold out)
August 23 Mansfield, MA Comcast Center (On sale now)
August 25 Saratoga Springs, NY Saratoga Performing Arts Center (On sale now)
September 12 Tampa, FL Ford Amphitheatre (On sale now)
September 13 Ft. Lauderdale, FL Bank Atlantic Center (On sale now)
September 16 Greenville, SC Bi-Lo Center (On sale now)
September 20 Chicago, IL United Center (On sale now)
September 21 Des Moines, IA Wells Fargo Arena (On sale August 22)
September 30 East Rutherford, NJ Giants Stadium (Sold out)
October 2 East Rutherford, NJ Giants Stadium (Sold out)
October 3 East Rutherford, NJ Giants Stadium (Sold out)

LOL Gazza. The only good think about him skipping the west coast thus far. Is that it makes my decision to go all the way to Mansfield look slightly better. At least I can see 2 shows in one city on a weekend. Other than New York. No other dates like that.

There's less than 30 days from ticket on sale to show date in Des Moines.

There's less than 30 days from ticket on sale to show date in Des Moines.

Similar scenario to Dublin. Last year they sold out three shows (115,000) tickets in a couple of hours. They had three shows reserved for the same venue this July. Put two on sale to begin with - first one sold in no time, second was a bit slower but sold out in a couple of weeks. Hes played so many Irish shows in the last 3-4 years that he's flooded the market - especially considering Dublin has by some distance the highest ticket prices of Bruce shows anywhere (40-50% higher than the UK dates).

Still impressive to sell something like 78,000 tickets and get two sell outs on the same weekend as the OXygene festival took place in Kildare, but instead of adding the 3rd night on July 14th they went for a show in Glasgow instead - where the ESB have never played before (only 3 visits to Scotland before - Edinburgh 81 and 96, Glasgow in '93). Sold about 45-50,000 tickets.
