Here's some of the pics I took from the Philly April 28 show. One noteworthy comment, the "Big Man" Clarence was noticably absent from the stage for most of the show, he only came onstage for his solos.

Nice pics!

As for the Big Man, he's on stage for the entire show.

He's escorted on by Bruce in the darkness at the beginning, then he's helped off at end.
In fact, he remains on stage when everybody else leaves before the encore.
Once he does leave the stage you know the show is over.

During the songs he's not featured on he sits on a throne, and he's also got a stool for some other numbers.

His legs are definitely shot.

Thanks for posting.

Just got done watching a version shot from behind the stage.
Bruce crushes his solo.

Especially poignant in light of the fact that it was requested by a terminally ill fan who was in attendance.

Family bids $5,200 to see the Boss
Springsteen to match amount going to food bank
By Chris Rosenblum- [email protected]
Dave Stinebring and his family paid a hefty premium for their Bruce Springsteen tickets.

Nicki and Dave Stinebring are headed to see the Boss.

The Stinebrings, who live near Centre Hall, recently won four tickets and backstage passes to Friday’s concert at the Bryce Jordan Center in a benefit auction for the Food Bank of the State College Area. Their winning bid was $5,200.

Promoting food banks at every stop of his tour, Springsteen gave the tickets and agreed to match any amount raised — an offer the Stinebrings, big Bruce fans, thought truly rocked.

“The fact that he’s doing this for people in need really says a lot for him,” Dave Stinebring said. “He’s always done this and thought about the regular people.”

Retired from Penn State’s Applied Research Lab, Stinebring and his wife, Nicki, a nurse practitioner, caught Springsteen’s last State College concert nine years ago and loved it. But when tickets disappeared quickly for the Boss’ return, they despaired of seeing the E Street Band.
Then came the auction, a second chance for a live “Hungry Heart” while helping to feed people. Dave Stinebring bid $3,500 to start, then $5,000, and finally $5,200 to win.

“That was very close to my ceiling,” he said.

Now, the Stinebrings and their two daughters, Andrea and Haley Wallace, have choice seats, though they’ll find out Friday exactly where they are. Knowing the food bank will receive $10,400 — and that every $1 donation translates to $4 of groceries — makes the coup even sweeter.

“Those are the real heroes, the volunteers and the workers there,” Dave Stinebring said.

Concert-goers are also being asked to donate cash, non-perishable food items and grocery gift cards to the Food Bank at the Bryce Jordan Center on Friday evening.

Not included in the auction prize is a meeting with Springsteen himself; that required a bid of more than $10,000. But Stinebring can always hope he runs into the Boss backstage. If that happens, he knows what he’ll say.

“I would just like to thank him for thinking enough of people in need, that he would do something like this,” he said. “It raises a lot of awareness.”

That is BEAUTIFUL. Not a huge Springsteen fan myself, but believe him to be a great American.

Springsteen has talked the talk and walked the walk about local foodbanks for quite a while.

He starts the encore every night with a rap about supporting that city's foodbank.

Also has a ticket auction benefiting them at most, if not all, shows.
And he matches the winning bids.

You know I can see in the not too distant future where every show is available live as it happens. I realize we aren't far from that now, between cell phones,Skype and all that. But in a few years when they refine the technology,it may get to the point where every show is now offered to you live as it happens. Wheteher it be online or maybe even in your living room on TV. Who knows, the end of the recorded product is very much threatened. Now it may come down to bands just doing a few live shows and offering them up for the rest of the world to see. Might cut down on costs...Just a few, wild thoughts on an otherwise very quiet night. Better seen on weed! Nolte - The Rocks Off patron saint

Clarence's throne is on the far left as you face the stage and his support stool is directly in front of Charlie Giordano.

Guess you only saw him when he sauntered to center stage...
