Wednesday night is shaping up to be something special...

Word from one of the more well connected folks at btx is that the Count Basie show will feature the performance of two complete albums.

Born To Run & Magic????

'BTR' maybe, 'Magic' not so much.

'The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle' would seem the most obvious choice, and a fitting homage to Danny.

Leftie, I'd give a pinky finger to see him do the entire "Wild and Innocent" album.

Oh, that'd be brilliant if true. Here's hoping this show gets recorded. Being a small venue and a very high ticket price, it minimises the chance for regular fans and (therefore) tapers, but then again previous 'high roller' shows like this have been recorded before.

As far as i know, he's only ever played all of BTR on the same night once. Cant recall when but it was around 1976-77 or so. It'd be quite odd to hear an entire album in sequence.

All the songs from Born To Run and Magic have been performed on this tour. He's also performed all but one song from WIESS and Darkness (NYC Serenade and Factory being the respective exceptions)

Some Count Basie tickets got released today - $1250 Balcony and $2K Orchestra.

Just got through to the box office, and they had "less than 10" of the $1250 tix left.
Since they were unable to tell me how much of that was tax deductible, I just couldn't pull the trigger...
Sad

Note to self: Wear soft shoes tomorrow.

Nah.
Factored in the price of gas - 15 minutes each way - and was looking at a $2K bite in the ass.

assuming your stylus isnt in need of repair, send it back and ask for one that plays properly.

I'm not being a smartass, but if youve bought an LP, the least you should expect is that it plays as its supposed to.
