Saw that a few days ago. If it is, its either the 1st NA show or else that leg is starting pretty early as the inside info suggests Europe Feb/March and North America April/May.

I've heard Dublin for February.

Reported start date of Feb 7 in Spain.
15-18 shows in Europe and the same in NA.

In Europe, definitely.

In the US, not so much.

That arena in Halifax holds 10K, same as many of the venues that were listed on the "cancelled" Fall Tour.

I still think that's crap and he'll probably just play major markets...As far as getting the hint that Europe is a better market for him than the USA...Last time I checked their were some pretty serious financial problems in the  EU as well as the US....He will sell well in the right market's in the USA. Just come to the Bay Area Bruce....We,are always their for you.

Reminder. New Springsteen song debuts tonight at halftime of the sunday night NFL game.

Well from what you could actually hear in between grunting football highlights sounded pretty good. Can't wait to hear the whole studio version. Or better yet. A live one.

Really hard to tell from the grunting and hitting and the chopped up version of the song they played in that little snippet.  I did like the song when he played it in Cleveland, so hopefully it will be good-despite the whistling......

Got to admit it is very hard for me to have my favorite rock performer sell his goods during football highlights.  Doesn't sit well at all.....

NEW ALBUM: WORKING ON A DREAM SET FOR JANUARY 27 RELEASE
It's official: Bruce Springsteen's new album is set for January 27 release on Columbia Records. Working on a Dream was recorded with the E Street Band and features twelve new Springsteen compositions plus two bonus tracks. It is the fourth collaboration between Springsteen and Brendan O'Brien, who produced and mixed the album.

Track list:
1. Outlaw Pete
2. My Lucky Day
3. Working On a Dream
4. Queen of the Supermarket
5. What Love Can Do
6. This Life
7. Good Eye
8. Tomorrow Never Knows
9. Life Itself
10. Kingdom of Days
11. Surprise, Surprise
12. The Last Carnival

Bonus tracks:
The Wrestler
A Night with the Jersey Devil

Springsteen said, "Towards the end of recording Magic, excited by the return to pop production sounds, I continued writing. When my friend producer Brendan O'Brien heard the new songs, he said, 'Let's keep going.' Over the course of the next year, that's just what we did, recording with the E Street Band during the breaks on last year's tour. I hope Working on a Dream has caught the energy of the band fresh off the road from some of the most exciting shows we've ever done. All the songs were written quickly, we usually used one of our first few takes, and we all had a blast making this one from beginning to end."

Working on a Dream is Bruce Springsteen's twenty-fourth album and was recorded and mixed at Southern Tracks in Atlanta, GA with additional recording in New York City, Los Angeles, and New Jersey

Odd, isnt it?

As someone on Backstreets pointed out, there's a Lennon song called "Surprise Surprise" and a Harrison song called "Life Itself" - and of course the Beatles' song "Tomorrow never Knows".

Then again, of course the Stones covered a song called "Surprise Surprise" and Mick has a solo song called "Lucky Day", which is close enough.

He's been reading Riffy's Clash thread!

Either that or he wanted to cover Van Morrison's "Queen of the Slipstream" and decided to go a bit more downmarket

Stones version of 'Surprise, Surprise' is J/R.

A Night with the Jersey Devil

In case some of you might not know this, the "Jersey Devil" is a very old tale that dates back to the first settlers in New Jersey, in Leeds Point, a town in the Pinelands. The story is 600+ years old. An old woman gave birth to her 13th child, who was a severely deformed creature with wings instead of arms and a pointy head and feet like hooves. The old women kept this child locked up in the basement. One stormy night, the child escaped and was never seen by the family again. It became known as The Jersey Devil, the creature haunted New Jersey and the surrounding areas and had been seen by over 2,000 witnesses over this period. It has terrorized towns and caused factories and schools to close down.  In the 1800's many sheep, chickens, dogs, cats, ducks and geese were killed by a creature with piercing screams and strange tracks. In 1850's-1890's, the Jersey Devil was seen and numerous times and reportedly carried off anything that moved, and most of the locals would not venture out after dark. The devil was last sighted at the turn of the century. It probably died by then but people still know about it and talk about it here in New Jersey. I think it started out as a true story, but it's turned into folklore over the years and now it's regarded as myth and legend.

I know about this because Leeds Point isn't far from where I live!
The truth is stranger than fiction!

One of the first Springsteen boots I ever got was called "The Jersey Devil" - from a show from the early 70's. Had a cartoon of Bruce with horns and a tail etc.

Wasnt until recently I realised there was a story behind the name.

Not quite that old.
Legend traces back to the 1700's.
