Potentially a brilliant release. Maybe the best Stones stadium show out there.
From memory, I think Keith was mixed pretty low on the TV special, so it'll be great to get it in pristine quality. If you're 'sittin' on a fence' about buying this one, indulge me for the next few minutes - and check out Charlie's face at 4:10 of the first clip..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsztU4RWk1k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHwTygK05_M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAD1ASb0eTI |

Being 'Omahed' is when the Stones play a mundane warhorse-laden setlist with no deep cuts. Obviously this phrase originated prior to 2006-07 or so. Nowadays, of course we are all Omahans. ;D |

Title: 'Bridges to Buenos Aires' released by Eagle Rock Nov. 8 - a previously uncirculated show (5 April 1998) Post by Gazza on Sep 8th, 2019 at 2:45pm
Bridges To Buenos Aires is the latest concert film release from The Rolling Stones’ archive. The full-length show from their five night sell-out residency at the River Plate Stadium in Argentina’s capital city has been restored in full, and features a very special guest appearance from Bob Dylan.
Filmed on April 5th 1998, by this point, the band had played to over two million people on the first two legs of the tour in North America and Japan. Amongst many highlights in this show, special guest Bob Dylan joins the band onstage at River Plate for a unique performance of his classic ‘Like A Rolling Stone’. The band only played a further two dates in South America on the triumphant, year long Bridges To Babylon tour, before they headed back to North America, and Europe. Just to emphasise, the Stones played five shows in Buenos Aires
29 & 30 March, 2,4 & 5 April The 30th March show is the one that was broadcast and is the only one of the five nights that's in circulation. 'Saint of Me' and 'Out of Control' from April 4th are the versions that were released on 'No Security' Bob Dylan was the opening act and guested on LARS on both the April 4th and 5th concerts. So, unusually for the Eagle Rock releases, this is a recording that will be new (both audio and video) to pretty much everyone. |

I dunno - I think the only excuse for bringing back Sister Morphine so many times is so that it was well-rehearsed for the Fonda Theater show.

I have to say, the Dylan-Jagger duet comes off a lot better on video than it seemed to do on all the past bootlegs. I was cringing at the thought of seeing it, but it's about as good as can be, absent a rehearsal at soundtrack, I'll just bet.
