Why in the 33rd anniversary? Because it’s the age Jesus Christ had when he was killed by the Romans and the age Zarathustra decided to leave his life in the mountains and return to the so called “civilization”.

Included are incredibly intimate demos for song ideas The Stones recorded themselves on a reel-to-reel tape at the Drake Hotel, as well as early recording session takes featuring guest appearances from Jeff Beck, Robbie and Sly, Chuck Leavell, Steve Marriott, Brian Jones and Shirley Watts.

Deluxe Edition includes a full color, 48-page book containing Ronnie Wood painted lyrics, a poem, Annie Leibovitz never seen pictures of the album cover sessions and of the never seen alternate cover, as well as never before published photos from the recording sessions that were shot by Steve Lillywhite  himself. All contained in a luxe case made lift top box with new cover art which is true to Ronnie Wood's original vision of the album's cover, it contains also a 12” lithograph!!

I like this song, but reading the lyrics makes me feel like this album was the beginning of Jagger's overly-literal songwriting.  Stuff that wasn't metaphorical like Gimme Shelter, but had the dead-on-the-plate, leaden, too-on-the-nose feel of Sweet Neocon and Highwire, among other atrocities. 

Back To Zero and Winning Ugly weren't just killed by the beat and the production, methinks.  It's funny, though, that the best of She's The Boss and Primitive Cool were close to this spot-on formula, but worked a lot better.

I've always liked One Hit (to the body), it's a good song

LOL I don't remember, I have my bootleg in cassette format, and really, I don't remember the tracks

I simply prefer the sound of the bootlegs from those sessions. The mix on the final album is dreadful and the drum sound in particular is horrific (listen to 'Hold Back' for example. Admittedly all the fairy dust in the world couldnt have redeemed that steaming turd of a song, but even a potentially decent track like 'Fight' gets dragged down by it)

I dont think its just me, but the 80s (specifically from about 83-84 on) was a horrible decade for music sonically.  Its an era which has aged really badly.

Having forked out a world record $30 million (or whatever it was) for the Stones' contract, there was no way CBS would have released an album with hardly any input from Mick and half a dozen songs featuring Keith on vocals but the reality is that some of those songs are better than what they did actually release, even if some of them could have done with a bit of polishing up.

I remember getting a low generation c90 tape of these songs in early 1987 (apparently leaked via Ronnie himself) and being blown away by them. Almost wore the bloody thing out.
