I was total undecided if buying or not, then when I saw the track list I decided not to buy it, later I had second thoughts but now that I heard the single “Come On” on Spotify with good speakers I decided to buy it!
https://youtu.be/LCUxr-nyx5Q https://youtu.be/LCUxr-nyx5Q "Every track has gone through an extensive process called ‘Audio Source Separation’ at Abbey Road. This is a revolutionary approach to restoring older recordings and you will be able to hear the remarkable difference this makes to each song, whilst keeping the authenticity of the time." |

The folks at Abbey Road know how to do their job.

Why not? You're 'supporting' them every time you buy a reissue with Satisfaction on it or play Jumpin' Jack Flash on Spotify. And as the Stones have co-operated with and endorsed numerous ABKCO releases since 1996, they're obviously OK with it too |

The Stones official social media accounts are promoting this release very heavily, including sponsored ads on facebook, so theyre obviously ok with it coming out. Significantly, it appears to be released through Promotone, NOT ABKCO. Presumably, as the copyright to the recordings were owned by the BBC, ABKCO didnt have the authority to release them. The track listing of the deluxe edition , incidentally, is : Deluxe edition: 1. Come On (Saturday Club 1963) 2. (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction (Saturday Club 1965) 3. Roll Over Beethoven (Saturday Club 1963) 4. The Spider and the Fly (Yeah Yeah 1965) 5. Cops and Robbers (Blues in Rhythm 1964) 6. It's All Over Now (The Joe Loss Pop Show 1964) 7. Route 66 (Blues in Rhythm 1964) 8. Memphis, Tennessee (Saturday Club 1963) 9. Down the Road Apiece (Top Gear 1965) 10. The Last Time (Top Gear 1965) 11. Cry to Me (Saturday Club 1965) 12. Mercy, Mercy (Yeah Yeah 1965) 13. Oh! Baby (We Got a Good Thing Goin') (Saturday Club 1965) 14. Around and Around (Top Gear 1964) 15. Hi Heel Sneakers (Saturday Club 1965) 16. Fannie Mae (Saturday Club 1965) 17. You Better Move On (Blues in Rhythm 1964) 18. Mona (Blues in Rhythm 1964) 19. I Wanna Be Your Man (Saturday Club 1964) 20. Carol (Saturday Club 1964) 21. I'm Moving On (The Joe Loss Pop Show 1964) 22. If You Need Me (The Joe Loss Pop Show 1964) 23. Walking the Dog (Saturday Club 1964) 24. Confessin' the Blues (The Joe Loss Pop Show 1964) 25. Everybody Needs Somebody to Love (Top Gear 1965) 26. Little by Little (The Joe Loss Pop Show 1964) 27. Ain't That Loving You Baby (Rhythm and Blues / BBC World Service 1964) 28. Beautiful Delilah (Saturday Club 1964) 29. Crackin' Up (Top Gear 1964) 30. I Can't Be Satisfied (Top Gear 1964) 31. I Just Want to Make Love to You (Saturday Club 1964) 32. 2120 South Michigan Avenue (Rhythm and Blues / BBC World Service 1964) (The 'standard' 1-CD version is just the first 18 songs) Has anyone bought the 'On Air' book yet? I'm hearing that the quality of the research is (surprise surprise) somewhat unimpressive. |

I'd never even noticed that until now. Their fucking pettiness and desire to rewrite history knows no limits. The fact that its the same musicians on all of these recordings removes any feeble excuse they may have had for it. |

Its a very welcome (and LONG overdue) release, but it could have been a bit better. For example, Hi Heel Sneakers has a large chunk missing, whereas the full song is quite easy to track down on bootlegs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_3WM1xYT9k In some cases, the bootleg sources are in better sound quality and some of the songs have been attributed to the wrong broadcasts. In case anyone missed it, there are 3 podcasts available on i-tunes promoting this release. They include new interviews with both Mick and Keith https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-rolling-stones/id1320808133?mt=2 |

Well Well Well -
some songs are better then others. Although I like nostalgic tunes, but that is a personal preference. Found myself Dancing to "On Air". :D :D Its all about The Mood. ;) :) (Next- its piqued my curiosity to the restoration part of it all) :-? |
