So...I came home from work to see if anyone else heard about " an announcement" happening Feb 24...as 2 co-workers from Europe pinged me today about it...then I find THIS on RO!!

We have a HUGE European support center in CORK...and that is where my co-workes were when they hit me up on Skype-for-business

I have no other confirmation or rumors to start...

Absolutely huge place - one of the biggest stadiums in Europe - it seats about 82,000.

Saw Springsteen there last year. If youre not seated close or standing down front, you may as well stay at home.

They only allow three shows at the stadium every year - and theyre very strict about it (Garth Brooks cancelled five sold out nights there a couple of years ago after they added shows before they got the permission of the local residents for the extra nights) -  U2 and Ed Sheeran have already booked shows , so its really between the Stones or a second u2 date to fill the other spot.

May as well use this thread for any other solid or speculative Euro tour info prior to any announcement, which should come in the next few weeks

The most solid rumour I've heard so far is the Stade de France on Paris on Saturday June 24.

Expect the tour to run during June and July.

I didnt even know about CORK or CROAK park before I got home tonight...

They both mentioned to me about an announcement on Feb 24th...not sure where they got that date from...by the time we have another conference, the 24th will be almost upon us...so we should have some info ( or not) by then.

Its worth remembering that there were 15 shows mooted for the 14 scheduled Euro dates in 2014, with the Irish press (and only the Irish press) seemingly convinced that there would be a Dublin show.

No prizes for guessing which of the 15 speculated dates ended up being the odd one out.

Today was the first I've heard of this rumour, in fairness. I'd say its about 50-50 at best.

But advice for anyone going to such a gig. If you hear of a rumoured date, book your hotel room right away and make sure its refundable.  There's obviously some shady inside info goes on between promoters, venue and the tourist board around these gigs because hotel prices absolutely go through the roof. Dublin's a pretty expensive city by European standards but if theres a major concert like this thats going to attract a lot of tourists, you can expect to pay about 300 euro for a room that would normally cost about 120 Euro.  And many of them will insist on a minimum stay occupancy of 2-3 nights.

We'll get tracks from Blue & Lonesome on the tour. The album sold so well and was #1 in so many countries - expect it!

They are most likely in the studio .. or at least have been since December 2cd (according to Don Was ..the sessions are in progress and the reception of B & L actually had a positive impact on the current sessions for them).

My Guess is European Tour in June / July. States Late August / September. Album some where in between ...within ...or around all that.

Sarajevo is a lovely part of the world, actually - google it and see. - I'm going to Dubrovnik in Croatia a few weeks later, myself, which is only a couple of hours drive away. Can't wait.

Just not so keen on festival sites (Nijmegen)and racetracks (Zeltweg)  in out of the way places.  And that Sarajevo venue - Bjelašnica - appears to be up a bloody mountain.

100,000 people going to a gig on the side of a mountain? Do they realise how old their fanbase is? Good luck trying to get a hotel near that. :scary
