I was complaining about Roger Waters closing but after the three shows in Mexico City I think it's not so bad as he's playing only Pink Floyd music of the 60s and 70s... really great shows, trust me

That guy really is a fucking self important idiot. I remember him 'breaking the story' of the Newark and London gigs in 2012 and getting the dates completely wrong.

LOL...I love the supplemental speakers around the field...(or at least they look like speakers)...

This truly looks like a horrible venue...if anyone here is going, I hope you have a great time...I really do...but from this photo...it makes me glad I am not going to be there...I did consider it for a minute as my fave nephew lives about 20 min from the polo grounds...

but...anyway...WOW!!

U2 and Springsteen are apparently being courted to headline next year but wonder if the bad vibes from this can torpedo it.

Gracious...that venue looks even more tremendous @ ground level...

Doing a field of perspective comparison with the aerial photos above and the video at the 29-32 sec mark...you can see the screen at the opposite side and barley make out the back field section, if at all...

Remember when you went to a concert to see the band live...and not just listen to them?

Periscope was spotty but I did see a majority of the gig. Of course, the one song I missed almost completely was Ride 'em On Down.

SMU
YGMR
Out of Control
Ride 'em on Down
Mixed Emotions
Wild Horses
IORR
Come Together
Tumbling Dice
HTW
Intros
Slipping Away
Little T&A
MR
Miss You
Gimme Shelter
Sympathy
Brown Sugar
JJF
YCAGWYW
Satisfaction

Come Together was interesting but not worth replacing one of their own.

Rick

Vegas in 12 days, oh yeah.

The crowd seems tired.

Two keyboard players on stage...interesting.

Keith's solo on T&A was fantastic.

Sasha Allen continues to provide great backing vocals. I like her a lot in this band.

I'm digging how the band is playing. It's the Stones!

Good to see Dylan avoided the 'Sinatra' type setlists he's been doing and went for the more sensible option last night.

http://www.boblinks.com/100716s.html

Sounded like a good couple of sets. Live debut for 'Come Together' of course (which is a song that Lennon got sued for because the opening lines plagiarised Chuck Berry's "You Cant Catch Me" - a song the Stones magnificently covered in the early days (their best Berry cover IMO) but have still never performed).

"Ride 'em On Down" was performed by the Stones at their earliest shows in summer 1962. As far as I'm aware this is the first time they've played it on over 54 years!

Leave it to the Stones to play something other than the single from the album. thought for sure they'd play Just Your Fool. God forbid they play more than 1 song from it.

I'm amazed they played anything from it, considering its a festival and the album is still two months away from a release date.

If ever there was a show where you could have banked on a safe setlist of warhorses it was probably this one - so in an 18-song set, for them to play two songs that no one has probably ever heard them play before - plus 'Mixed emotions' which (aside from the corporate gig the other night) is a song they've barely touched since 1990 is pretty decent. 'Little T & A' and 'Out of Control' are nice additions too.

The ( slight) curve ball setlist was a pleasant surprise.
20 songs?!? I would have bet 17 at the most.
OOC is welcome to stay in the rotation (Bring back SoM!!)...I thought it was a highlight of last years Raleigh and Buffalo shows as well as Mexico City #1 this year.
Like MR and CYHMK...(Unlike SMU, Satisfaction, MY, and IORR)...I cant seem to get tired of those songs live.

No Song Vote?? They could have stacked it easily and claimed  Mixed Emo as winner...
But I know they run an honest game with the vote...

It's a rigged system! Believe me, the system is rigged!

When I am in charge, ALL song votes will count and ONLY the song with the most votes will be played.
Integrity and fairness must be restored to the voting system or we have no Stones experience.

Join me, and let's make the live Stones experience great again!

Thanks GAZZA! I was able to hear almost every song last night on Periscope ~ Debbie Tiger ~ but it was so far away I couldn't really see anything. These videos are much better.

I hope Come Together was a one-off. Really didn't need that.

Mixed Emotions was rather dull compared to the studio version but I'm happy with it for the first time out in a while.

The new blues song Ride Em on Down was really cool, loved it.

Has anyone heard or posted Dylan's set?? It got good reviews from what I've read.

I , too, thought it was sweet...and a treat for a "new" song...though, I cant help but think this was a bit of a snoozer for the folks in the poor seats...I could be wrong...but a song you have never heard before...no intuitive familiarity to drive your boogie and fist up in the air...at all the right parts...no "gas, gas, gas" or " yeah, yeah, yeah...WHOO!!....shout out...

Again...I could be wrong...but these vids make it enjoyable

Mixed Emotions is the best version of the song they have ever done. The versions during Steel Wheels and Urban Jungle were mainly awful and the low point of most gigs.

That's a pretty shitty layout. I mean where did everybody put their tents? It can
get mighty cold at night in the desert.
This is even worse than the Woodstock organisation. I feel sorry for all those kids.
