What he gave the world was the equivalent to musical chlamydia.

Still, you don't wish a death so young on anyone.

Warm smell of colitis.

Well, it's been a few hours and the grace period for not speaking ill of dead Eagles has lapsed.  All that lousy music he created will absolutely assure G. Frey a spot in Heaven, where he can play soulless angel covers for Him in his House for eternity.  See Luke 15:10 ("there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels").

And as we see, once again, YOU never know when Him come calling . . . .

WTF ?! .. !!!!!!! :

This is a friggin HUGE loss for Middle America  .  With the possible exception of tonight's CBS News   , nobody ...... NOBODY has reported the true impact of Glenn's passing and how it will affect this nation   ( Read : Walter Cronkite , February 28th , 1968  -- Tet Offensive )  .

The Eagles  =  Glenn Frey's band .   Glenn hired them all ( .. even Don Henley ) , named the band , fired the Great Randy Meisner , fired and then rehired Bernie Leadon  ( Ronnie Reagan's daughter's  boyfriend   )    , fired Don Felder  [  .. the man who wrote the music to Hotel California ]  , etc .................................

" Middle America is in turmoil this evening , Ronnie Cakes "

The Eagles  =   NO MORE !!!!!!

Yeah, Leap Years are thought to be unlucky too, according to folklore and weddings should be avoided during one.

That song rocked the 80s!  And the 90s.  Frey was unfettered from the ligatures of the world' most popular band, and found his depth.  It was as if Frey was challenging us fans: "Can you handle this, bitches?"

Speaking of passing, here is the best quote from the article that mojo just posted above. Very much worth the read. In describing the Eagles, it reads just like a Moonie post:

"Soporific Laurel Canyon coke rock whose chief existential lament seems to be ‘What toppings should I get on my burrito?'” the alt-weekly wrote. “The Eagles are the quintessential band for a decade whose favorite barbiturate was the Quaalude.”

LOL. That does read like a Moonie post. I still have yet to try Quaaludes. It frustrates me that it appears you can't even find them like, in Bangkok even!

Back when I first moved to Oakland, I bought my first motorcycle, which was a 1981 Virago, 750. Viragos were like, Harley copies--low-riders, with the V-engine and shit. I was hanging out at this sorta non-Angels biker bar, not too far from the actual Angel's clubhouse, which was down the street from my place, and all those dudes had kept telling me that I should just get a big hog. I kept saying, "What if I drop it?" and they'd go "Well, just don't drop it!"

I dropped that damn Virago three times. It is SO embarrassing to be a young girl all decked out in leather having to wave down a trucker to help get your fucking bike off the ground. Many thousands of miles later, I still maintain that no one's got any business riding a bike they can't pick up. One time it wouldn't start when I was trying to ride home from work so I ended up having to stop in this bar called the Whale's Tail (I think?) and got picked up by this dude who worked only 4 months a year running oil rigs in Alaska and lived on his houseboat in the East Bay the rest of the time. He was a really good lay. He let me drive the houseboat across the bay once!!

ANYWAYS, the point is, we moved from Oakland to SF, and I left my bike in the parking lot of the hippie-pre-Burning-Man warehouse loft place we'd been living in. I was terrified to ride it across the Bay Bridge, and as anyone who rides knows, if you're nervous on a bike, get the fuck off it. So my plan was to, instead, ride it down to San Jose and come back up to SF via the peninsula (this is a very stupid idea, but probably less so than riding, inexperienced, across the Bay Bridge). Anyways, when I got on the thing, the mirrors had been fucked with and I felt like it wasn't riding right, so I rode straight to the bar, 'cause I figured someone would be there who knew about bikes and could help. So, of course, I meet Ron and Shorty (who was about 6'5"--bikers are so clever!), and then spent the rest of the damn day on the back of Ron's Harley, while Shorty rode my bike. They kept it, saying that there was rust in the gas tank or some shit and that they were gonna clean it out, and tune it up, etc. So Shorty was driving it and someone turned left in front of him and he ended up on the road, with the bike on top of his ankle; the leather in his boot melted into his skin and he got gangrene. His license was, of course, suspended, so the bike got impounded. Since I was like, singing in punk bands and working as a canvasser for the goddamn Haight-Ashbury Free Clinic, I had no money to get it out, so we kinda decided we'd let it sit and then wait for it to go up on auction and see if we could get it back that way.

For months afterwards, when I'd finally written off ever getting the thing back, I'd get these drunken phone calls from Ron, rambling about how we were gonna go get my bike back, even if we had to break in the place, etc., etc. They tapered off, eventually.

But Shorty. Shorty had a stash of Quaaludes. And he offered to take one with me, but I didn't take the offer, 'cause I figured I'd spend the whole time peeling him off me, but now I wish I'd been more aggressive and flirty and tricked him into giving or selling me one anyways.

Quaaludes. They musta been something, man.

" Eagles Members, Jackson Browne Uniting for Glenn Frey Grammy Tribute

Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, Timothy B. Schmit, Joe Walsh, Browne will pay tribute to singer-guitarist, who died in January "

" Eagles co-founder Bernie Leadon and singer-songwriter Jackson Browne will join members Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit for a Grammy tribute honoring Glenn Frey, the Eagles singer-guitarist who died January 18th at age 67. As Billboard reports, it's likely the performance will include "Take It Easy," the band's seminal 1972 folk-rock anthem, which Browne co-wrote with Frey.

Browne dedicated a solo version of "Take It Easy" to Frey during a January concert in Florida, reminiscing about the pair's early days as roommates in Los Angeles. "I wrote this song with Glenn Frey," he said from the stage. "It's a song that I started, but I didn't finish it. Even if I had finished it by myself, it wouldn't be the song that it is and it wouldn't be the song that we all love."

Frey died of complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia. His last Eagles performance came July 29th, 2015 in Louisiana.

Leadon – a guitarist and former member of country-rock act the Flying Burrito Brothers – co-formed the Eagles with Frey, drummer Henley and bassist Randy Meisner after uniting as Linda Ronstadt's backing band during a 1971 tour. Leadon left the band in 1975, with Walsh taking over guitar duties. Bassist-singer Schmit, a veteran of country-rock band Poco, joined the Eagles in 1977 after Meisner's departure.

The 2016 Grammy Awards – scheduled for February 15th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles – will also feature performances from Adele, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Skrillex, the Weeknd and a David Bowie tribute from Lady Gaga.

The 2016 Grammy Awards – scheduled for February 15th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles – will also feature performances from Adele, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Skrillex, the Weeknd and a David Bowie tribute from Lady Gaga.

no meisner?

Meisner's been having troubles lately. From Wikipedia:

In March 2013, Meisner suffered yet another health scare after losing consciousness in his California home. A piece of food obstructed his breathing while he was eating, and he was rushed to the hospital. While doctors were optimistic about his recovery, Meisner spent some time in a coma,[44] and in his weakened state could not accept the invitation to participate in the History of the Eagles tour alongside fellow ex-bandmate Bernie Leadon, who participated on the tour.[45] The incident damaged his vocal cords, leaving him with weakened voice and speech. He later revealed that his former Eagles bandmates had paid the medical bills from the event.[44]

In April 2015, Meisner and his wife denied rumours that she was taking advantage of his known addictions to alcohol and drugs, trying to force-feed him bottles of vodka to keep him drunk, in response to the singer's longtime friend, James Newton, filing papers in April asking that Meisner be placed under a court-supervised conservatorship governing both his personal and financial matters.[46] Despite this, three months later, the Los Angeles County Superior Court appointed a temporary conservator to oversee the 24-hour management of Meisner's drug prescriptions and medical state, after he was diagnosed as bipolar and suicidal. Meisner had allegedly threatened to kill himself, his wife and several others with an AK-47.[47]

Drunken ass Eagle shooting off an AK.  Okay, its a start.  Maybe if that pansy ass group had done more of that and less of New Kid In Town, they wouldn't be regarded by real Stones fans as music's biggest ponces.  Maybe.
