Keith Richards on Trump: 'Refreshing' and 'worst nightmare'

We guess you can put Keith Richards in the “undecided” category.

In a new interview in Billboard magazine, the legendary Rolling Stones guitarist weighs in on a number of subjects, including the current topic du jour in American politics: Donald Trump.

“I do find him refreshing,” says Richards of the current Republican presidential front-runner. “He’s cut through a lot of crap.”

Is Richards gearing up for an endorsement? Well, not exactly.

“Can you imagine President Trump? The worst nightmare. But we can’t say that because it could happen.”

Richards concludes his thoughts on 2016 politics with a bit of historical perspective.

“This is one of the wonders of this country. Who would’ve thought Ronald Reagan could be president?”

Donald Trump is a big supporter of the Rolling Stones.  He knows how to romp.  He knows how to beefcake.  It will be great to have a Stones guy busting ass in the White House, instead of a commie or another retardicalist.

I agree with KEEF, Trump is refreshingly politically incorrect, but at the same time has the potential to become a nightmare. I like him because he cant be bought.

As a european observer I wonder where the republicans find those lunatics. First Sarah Palin, and now Trump. If it's an advantage to have a Stones connection, I'd prefer Jesse Ventura. He once was a Stones bodyguard and seems more an honest man to me then all of the others.

It’s easy, Trump is giving a lot of money to the Republicans and will continue doing this during the internal campaign, so they have him as a candidate now, and later they will go to the big elections with another candidate, and explain Don what is the meaning of democracy LOL

Well, that's to bad for Jesse. LOL. It's also to bad because he's one of the very few politicians who dares (with 2500 architects and engineers) to question 9/11

Grover, America, in its current state, would never elect a Mormon.  Not even on their worst day, are Christians in the US insane enough to elect a Mormon.  Sorry, bud.  Now, that may change in about 25-40 years with current, respective breeding rates, and continuing changes in the political consensus (Mormon marketing and various definitions of "-ism").

Donald Trump released a book in 1990 titled "Surviving at the Top." In it he did make fun of the Stones when they were in Atlantic City for their Steel Wheels show. I remember that he was critical of their physical appearance and the fact they had many bodyguards with them.

I can't stand anchor babies.  They are worse than those 80s crack babies, everyone used to cry about.

It's Nation time in America.  Time to separate the wheat from the chaff.  The piss from the Moof.  It's time to put the balls back on a nation of emasculated light beer drinking poofs.  A nation of pigeons and group therapists.  We can right this ship before it flounders on the rocks and we lose all our booty.

Everyone in America has roots from other countries. My grandparents were all born in other countries and moved here for the idea that things were better here, and for the most part they were right, accept my grandmother who came from Italy. I think it could be just as good or better there.

Yes the English killed the native Americans (from Eskimo to Apaches to Aztecs) while the Spanish mixed with the native Americans (from Aztecs, to Incas with all steps in between)

Survivors in the US were sent to reservations and some even used as mascots in sports!

Yes, the USA is full of immigrants from all over the world

ALICE COOPER On DONALD TRUMP: 'I Know He's Doer, He's Not A Sayer'

October 27, 2015

Legendary rocker Alice Cooper says that GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump's blunt way of speaking and ability to run large organizations has made the real estate mogul so popular among Republican voters.

Democratic Party presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton leads her party's primary race with 46 percent of the votes while Trump has 27 percent of primary voters on the Republican side.

During an appearance on the special Halloween episode of "The Strombo Show", the Canadian radio program hosted by award-winning personality George Stroumboulopoulos, Cooper stated about the 2016 U.S. presidential race: "It's so funny to think about Donald Trump and Hilary. It's going to be the funniest election of all time. I mean, think of it. I keep thinking to myself, is this really the best we can do? With all the great minds in America, this is really the best we can do?"

He continued: "The thing I think about Donald Trump and I'm not political at all, but I know Donald and I know he's doer, he's not a sayer, he's a doer. I think that's what the American public are looking at. The American public always votes with their wallets. They're looking at a guy and going, 'Why don't we put a billionaire in there that knows how to run a business? Because America is basically a corporation, and that's what they're thinking right now. They don't want some vanilla politician in there anymore doing business for us that's milk toast. They want a guy that is going to do something. I don't know how much he knows about foreign policy and that's what worries me, and I think [it worries] a lot of people."

Cooper previously criticized other rock musicians for wearing their politics on their sleeves. During the 2004 presidential race, Cooper quietly supported George W. Bush but criticized Sheryl Crow, Dave Matthews, James Taylor and Bruce Springsteen for enthusiastically and publicly backing Democrat John Kerry.

"To me, that's treason," he told the Canadian Press at the time. "I call it treason against rock and roll, because rock is the antithesis of politics. Rock should never be in bed with politics.

"If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are," he said. "Why are we rock stars? Because we're morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal."

Cooper continued: "Besides, when I read the list of people who are supporting Kerry, if I wasn't already a Bush supporter, I would have immediately switched. Linda Ronstadt? Don Henley? Geez, that's a good reason right there to vote for Bush."

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist Zoltan Bathory recently became the first Republican-leaning rocker to express his views on the 2016 field. Others, such as STAIND's Aaron Lewis, Kid Rock, GODSMACK's Sully Erna and the members of AVENGED SEVENFOLD have yet to endorse a candidate.

I'm selling Utah back to yinz.  In fact, I'll pay you to take it back.  Goose for gander.  Sow = reap.  Flip side.  Reciprocity.  Squelch.  Divest.  Abrogate.  Declension.  Subversion.  Diversion.  Did you know those Mormonists put up a "Zion curtain" in bars?  Assuming you find a bar, the Mormon law says They can't be seen pouring what you were there for in the first instance.  They have to scurry to some back piss room to pour your drink and then bring it out to you.  I'm not lying.  This happens in the state of Utah in 2015.  We almost elected one of these Fucks in the last election.  I'm not lying about that either.
