Nice poster...BUT...sadly, reminds me of THIS:

And can we talk about a really decent song vote??

Both the Buffalo and Quebec posters seem lame in comparison to the other cities many of which I thought were cool. It would seem based on the show quality, ticket sales and band demeanor more shows will follow in the future. However at this stage "time is not on their side". Wonder how many of our regulars will be attending this potential ( sadly and fingers firmly crossed) historic show?

I was looking at hotels and flights today.
Crazy prices.

Good seats appear sold out.

And yet I am looking...

The Buffalo Litho is in the style  of Architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Very clever by the boys. And Mick and Charlie both visited at least one of his homes here. Darwin Martin House. And Mick mentioned it on stage. My guess 80%of my fellow WNY's wouldn't know Darwin Martin House if they crashed their car into it after a Bills game.  Sometime it takes a couple of Gents from London to remind us of what we have right  in front of out noses. I loved the Litho by the way.

I read on facebook that some of the roadies were saying the Stones are going to blow the doors off tomorrow night for the final show of the tour. Going out with a bang!

Decent song list. They should play all four of them.

Street Fighting Man was fantastic when they played it a week or so ago (was it Raleigh?)

How sad!  The last of this tour out of nowhere (at least to me).  This was a great distraction from the hardships of life.

How do they do this?  They work hard, for sure.  We work hard too.

The Rolling Stones!

No one was fighting in the streets of Raleigh.

Should be an interesting show...very decent song vote...a festival site, (no runways?) so things will be slightly awkward for them...a reduced setlist maybe? AND...the strangest (or maybe not) the festival still goes on for another 4 days with DEEP PURPLE  closing things up...

They gave us [Buffalo] some class in the poster to make up for the Hot Rocks setlist.  In 1997 we got Little Queenie and Crazy Mama (B-stage).

No stretches in the Quebec song vote, but at least they're being honest.

My heart couldn't bear to listen or follow this show.

What a great Tour this has been and I really do believe that it's far from over. The Band is having too much fun and are on fire.

Back to work today after a week off. Time to replenish the Stones Slush fund.

Why a song short? Was there a curfew or did they forget that they weren't playing in the UK?

You always hear this talk before a final show about them doing something special and it never happens! It always ends up being just another show. Sometimes even a bit shorter.

What a tour! I'm really proud of them, they did such a great job every night. I remember watching clips of the final Bigger Bang show and they looked so tired, and sounded so mediocre... I was so worried. I never would have thought that they would come back so hard like this. What a fuckin' band.

It must be nice when you can see that the end of the tour is in 15 shows or less...every reason to look fwd to the next and no room for doom and gloom. Bigger Bang was 8 legs for a total of 147 shows (wiki)

Like reading a good magazine during a 1 hr flt...not War & Peace on a transatlantic redeye

Sometimes its easy to dismiss the Stones as selfish, spoiled individuals.

Then they do something that tugs at the heartstrings.

This has just been posted on Keith's facebook page.

This is Rita Bedard, whom Keith describes as 'my blind angel from Toronto'

Without this woman we may not have had a band after 1978.

Wednesday at Festival d'été de Québec 2015: The Rolling Stones

By Bonnie Stiernberg

July 16, 2015  |  3:04pm

I have never in my life seen a city as excited for a show as Quebec City was for The Rolling Stones on Wednesday. Literally every building I set foot inside was playing Stones music, every local I spoke to eager to chat about the band. When I strolled past the festival grounds at 2 p.m,—seven and a half hours before the Stones were set to hit the stage and four hours before the gates would even open—there was already a huge crowd lined up outside. Many of them had slept there the night before to ensure they’d be the first ones on the Plains of Abraham.

And why wouldn’t Quebec City be excited? Wednesday was the first time since 1998 that the Stones had played their city, and it was the last date of what some speculate may very well be the band’s final tour. Most of the crowd spent the evening camped out at the Bell Stage awaiting Mick and Keith, which means they also caught sets from Galaxie and The Districts. The Districts in particular seemed in awe of the sheer size of their first gig in Quebec City—it’s not every day you get to perform in front of 80,000 people on the largest free-standing stage in North America to open for the Stones. And you have to pity the bands who were slated to play head-to-head with the Glimmer Twins—I can’t imagine anyone passing up a chance to see them to go watch Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros on the other end of the park.

The Rolling Stones stuck pretty much to their standard Zip Code Tour set, and their show felt just as thrilling and remarkable as their stop in Atlanta last month. The “request” voted on by fans online for this particular set was “Street Fighting Man,” and they played a few Sticky Fingers classics (“Wild Horses” and “Bitch” in addition to “Brown Sugar” later in the show) to celebrate that album’s recent reissue, but beyond that they didn’t deviate from their standard formula. Of course, why would they? It’s unnecessary to mess with a great thing.

Mick Jagger did his best to make the show feel like a unique experience, however, addressing the crowd primarily in French and indulging in so many costume changes that I’m pretty sure he just decided to wear every single outfit he’d packed for the tour. The crowd, of course, ate it all up, and to hear all 80,000 of them screaming along to “Satisfaction” at the end of the night was truly incredible. No wonder they were so excited.

Rolling Stones Festival d’été de Québec Set LIst:
1. “Start Me Up”
2. “It’s Only Rock N’ Roll”
3. “All Down the Line”
4. “Tumbling Dice”
5. “Street Fighting Man”
6. “Wild Horses”
7. “Bitch”
8. “Honky Tonk Women”
9. “Before They Make Me Run”
10. “Happy”
11. “Midnight Rambler”
12. “Miss You”
13. “Gimme Shelter”
14. “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”
15. “Sympathy for the Devil”
16. “Brown Sugar”

Encore:
17. “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”
18. “Satisfaction”

This tour will go on indefinitely.

Even if they do take a break later in the year for Keith to do some solo stuff, they'll be playing together again soon after. If its not 2015, it'll be 2016.

All the signs up until a couple of weeks ago were that they were finally going to get to South America later in the year.  I dont think its a coincidence that the gossip this month that that leg is off again was quickly followed by a surprise confirmation of Keith's album getting a release date.  That album has been just sitting in the out-tray waiting for them to hit the 'send' button when the time was right.

There's also talk of another few US arena shows later in the year but I dont know how reliable or practical that is on the back of a solo venture. Keith solo dates are of course only speculation, but I think its safe to assume he'll at least do the media circuit for a while to promote his record.

Aww KEEF has a big, (cross-eyed) heart, he still keeps in touch with her? This is totally incredible! The Blind Angel was at the show last night? Yeah we all owe her a big thank you! As the story goes, instead of KEEF going to jail, he played a charity concert for the blind instead.

Doom & Gloom, maybe...but not LSTNT...not the greatest arrangement these days, but an easy one for them to do...a apparently a crowd fave.
