Ol'B was my favorite guitarist. He truly lived the life of a bluesman. His sound was authentic. And singular. And righteous. There was none better. He embodied all the great qualities an entertainer should have.
I was in his presence twice, luckily. He's the greatest of all time. |

I remember looking at his records in the five-and-dime as a kid, wondering what kind of music this could be.

He lived to 89.
Born in 1925, he witnessed a full lifetime of change, including intense poverty, two German World Wars, and systemic segregation. He was black. Diabetic for 35 years. Impressive fortitude, probably developed during hardship of childhood Mississippi poverty. Nothing in the U.S. has approached that kind of poverty for 40+ years. |

Love the headear photo with BB, Ronnie and Slash.
I just bought the Slash biography, where he spends way too much time talking about groupies, VD and more. |

Sad news to wake up to this morning, although its been inevitable for a few weeks.
Only got to see him once - at the Royal Albert Hall in 1987 when we were on honeymoon. He was about 61 , and that was considered ancient for a performer back then, so we assumed it would be his last visit to the UK. It was excellent. Who would have guessed that he still had a few thousand live shows left in him. In fact, I'd hazard a guess that he's probably given more concerts than any performer in history. |

I saw him once and wish it was more. BB King will always live in the hearts of all who loved his music.
Rick It's all about the music. |

Sad that he's gone, but he had a long career and was a legend. RIP
The "B.B" in B.B Kings name stands for Blues Boy, he got that nickname in Memphis where he was just starting out as a very young man. |

I'm really bummed out since this news broke. I know he was 89, but I loved him.
