GAWD! Those shows are so bad. You need to realize that those "talent" shows are as much and usually even more about the judges than the contestants...otherwise they would not try so hard to get Uber-Celebs as the judges ( Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Steve Tyler, Christina Aguilera, Adam from Maron5, etc...

I left Northern California at 4:00 a.m.  My audition was recorded at 1:00 a.m. the next day!  I was tired, hungry, and sick with the flu! Plus, I lost my earring!

I had fun.  I got to hang out with all the other artists back stage!  Especially, the dancers!  They were amazing!  In real life, it looks incredible!

And yes, it had pretty much sucked for a long time. The top 40 sucking for a similar length of time had a lot to do with that!

Thinking back to the 70's ...the TOP 40 was such a mix up Rock, Soul, R&B, Disco, Pop, with the occasional novelty single...now it is totally out of the factory assembly line...sad

What do you guys think of Later with Jools Holland?

I am not sure if it is shown here in the US...even on BBCA, but I could be wrong.
I have seen it aboout a dozen times and enjoyed it. I was sad when he left Squeeze. I was fortunate enough to have seen him live w/ Squeeze and twice as a solo act.

A friend played her stuff for me a couple of years ago..l.thought she was OK, as the "singer-songwriter" tag kinda bores me (yes...there are exceptions)...but this single is straight up great!!
The production is true...and mix is nicely layered.

You go, girl! Show them what you can do, and never mind the negative little people: they are so hung up on themselves, they can't even clean their derrières properly. And I can't stop using these goddamn sunglasses all the time.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think the judges got distracted by my weight, instead of focusing on the quality of my voice. 

Anyways, Roger and Sarahi, two dancers I met on the show, will probably bring the prize home to Northern Cali!  Yay!
