From the official site:

From The Vault: The Marquee – Live in 1971 released on DVD and iTunes

The Rolling Stones From The Vault: The Marquee – Live In 1971 to be released 22 June 2015.
•Sought-after club performance released for the first time on DVD in four formats
•Rare gig from the Rolling Stones in 1971 filmed at the Marquee Club
•A classic, must-own performance
•Part of the From The Vault series from The Rolling Stones archive

A sought-after, rare club performance from The Rolling Stones in 1971 filmed at London’s iconic Marquee Club will finally see the light of day, after almost two decades of being stored away in an attic. The Rolling Stones From The Vault: The Marquee – Live in 1971 will be released on DVD in four formats and on iTunes via Eagle Rock on 22 June 2015.

This remarkable performance was filmed for US television in 1971, shortly after The Rolling Stones had completed their 1971 Farewell Tour of the UK, and a month before the release of the album Sticky Fingers. The gig marked the first time tracks ‘Brown Sugar’, ‘Dead Flowers’, ‘Bitch’ and the rarely performed ‘I Got The Blues’ were showcased live; four tracks taken from the Sticky Fingers album. The line-up at this time was Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman.

The show was an intimate, rare club appearance and very little footage has been released, until now. Part of the “From The Vault” series of live concerts from the band’s archive, The Rolling Stones From The Vault: The Marquee – Live In 1971 is a must own DVD for any Stones fan, featuring carefully restored footage and sound mixed to perfection by Bob Clearmountain, including 5.1 surround sound on the DVD and SD Blu-ray formats.

The release of The Rolling Stones From The Vault: The Marquee – Live In 1971 coincides with the special edition of album Sticky Fingers, and includes alternative takes of ‘I Got The Blues’ and ‘Bitch’, plus a Top of the Pops performance of ‘Brown Sugar’ from 1971.

Hope you don't mind but this is a different reléase, with different date, etc so I think it is better to split it from the Sticky Fingers thread

This I'm pretty excited about. Will the rehearsal takes be on both the DVD as well as the CD?

Eagle Rock does such a great job, I love these 'From the Vaults' releases. And great value-for-money too.

With this seeing the light of day, I can imagine el macombo being something that must be down the road… not too far I hope.
And not to complain, but when the put out Ladies and Gentleman, the CD would've been a great companion.

Leeds and this… oh my… I may be missing seeing them, but I'm happy about this.

Definitely agree about Ladies and Gents; maybe its lack of CD had something to do with the original mixes being done in quad sound at the time, and maybe presented difficulties for Clearmountain in getting an acceptable sound. Even the sound on the released DVD is a bit funky...

And does anyone know if the El Macombo shows were actually filmed? I really love the performances and sound of those recordings (plus few booted ones).

Seen all this before. Some of it's quite good but, a little repetitive. Nice work on video restoration. How about Rotterdam or ,Essen 1973?

Most here have likely seen it before, still look forward to having a cleaned up version.

Repetitive how? Certainly "I Got the Blues" isn't (a personal fave).

Isn't there a story about Keith, irate at club owner Harold Pendleton for putting up a huge neon sign right behind the Marquee stage, swung his guitar at him and had to be restrained?  Or something like that?

Yes. And they played it throughout the 1970 European tour as well as the entire British Tour which ended 12 days before this show - theyre even releasing a version of it on the upcoming Sticky Fingers deluxen from Leeds, which predates this 'live debut' by 13 days!

Dead Flowers was also premiered in 1970 and played throughout the '71 tour. Bitch was played every night in 1971 too.

But as we've seen with the LA 75 release, research on dates  isnt their strongest point.

Yes, thats absolutely true. Pendleton had fired them in 1963 because he thought they were shite. After watching the rehearsals for the TV special and following on from the arguments over the venue sign, he was heard to mutter 'still a load of bloody rubbish' a bit too close to Keith's ears for his own good and ended up with a Telecaster being swung at his head.

I've always felt the embroidered bolo top to be one of MJ's least successful stage outfits.  IMHO, it seems to put his Marquee performance off, simultaneously self-conscious and trying to live up to it (not).  Should have left it to David Johansen, who wouldn't have missed a beat in it.

I got the DVD/CD from Amazon for $16.99 plus the Sticky Fingers 2-CD both $36 (US). Plus free shipping (got here bloody fast too - 2 days!).

Then I got a notification from Amazon giving me $4 credit. That must be the coupon for Hyde Park. That release doesn't seem to have a CD with the package. Is that your understanding?

There's nothing saying there's an audio disc… just Blu Ray or DVD, I'm guessing there'll be an audio companion, it's been the pattern, everything released is availalbe in audio and video… not always together, the exception being the early releases of Brussels and Leeds 1982 ect… but some of those may see video releases, like 2005 toronto and japan 1990...

The intimate performance at London's Marquee Club was filmed shortly after The Rolling Stones had completed their 1971 Farewell Tour of the U.K., and a month prior to the release of Sticky Fingers.
At the Marquee, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman debuted Brown Sugar, Dead Flowers, Bitch and I Got the Blues from their upcoming LP. Eagle Rock's release features restored video as well as newly mixed sound courtesy of Bob Clearmountain.
The eight-song concert will be supplemented by five bonus tracks: two additional takes each of I Got the Blues and Bitch, and a 1971 performance of Brown Sugar from the television program Top of the Pops. Japanese release features 2CD The Brussels Affair 1973″ performance.
What's your address? You can send me through my E-Mail. I would make it worth your while. Anything you want. Willing to pay, as well as sending blank discs. Any boots, and rare stuff from the Stones, or other artists. I would be very grateful, it is a very generous offer. So whatever you want as reimbursement. Let me know if that is appropriate.

Thats more than a bit tempting....(repeats to oneself 'dont do it - think of the huge import duty')....

£109??? That's more than double the price in Japan!

Vomit.

Gaz, cannot even order it here. They will not import anything containing a DVD here because we are on a different format here. What format for DVD do they utilise in the UK? Because this Australian reluctance sounds like cobblers to me, know what I mean? The deluxe Sticky Fingers 3cd edition has to be ordered, and it costs us 200 quid. That's about 200 pounds in the UK, so as for the Marquee deluxe cannot even play it if we order it through Amazon. And people why I moan about Van Diemen's toilet.
