Does this mean we can expect a new Stones box set?

Already discussed this a bit in the Sticky Fingers Reissue thread. I do think its worthy of its own topic, though.

There's a lot of circulating Stones material from 1964 which will be public domain at the end of the year unless they rush-release something the way Dylan, The Beatles and (I believe) the Beach Boys have done.

This doesnt include the BBC material however.

Worth mentioning though that Dylan's 'Complete Basement Tapes' release isnt in any way connected to this copyright extension issue.

Because nobody wants new material. Honestly, I don't have a problem with it. Fans can buy it or not. But frankly their are only so many songs to be written.  Very tough to expand some of their greatest songs. So,why not release outtakes for the die hards?
