RONNIE Wood has rolled into Adelaide, 10 days out from the Rolling Stones’ big and long-awaited show at the Oval on Saturday, October 25.

Wood,, who officially joined other current members Mick Jagger, Keith Richard and Charlie Watts, in the Stones in 1975, has been spotted and photographed at the InterContinental Hotel on North Terrace.

Wood sparked a frenzy of interest in the possibility he was soon to be in South Australia posting a “selfie” from Dubai in the middle east.

At least one other member of the Stones is believed to be in Adelaide.

The rock and roll heroes will play at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday, October 25 as the first concert of the rescheduled “On Fire” tour cancelled in March after the tragic death of Jagger’s long-term girlfriend, model L’Wren Scott, who took her own life.

More To Come.

Seven months after postponing their Australian tour, the Rolling Stones are back with at least three band members touching down in Adelaide.

The group, including frontman Mick Jagger, was shown a side door at Adelaide Airport when they arrived last night before being whisked away to the Intercontinental Hotel.

Guitarist Ronnie Wood made a brief appearance as he left the hotel this afternoon.

Mick Jagger and drummer Charlie Watts have kept low profiles since arriving on the Emirates flight from Dubai last night.

The band postponed its Australian tour in March after Jagger’s girlfriend died, but they promised to return.

With their show still 10 days away, there is speculation they have arrived early to rehearse for their national tour.

'Practice makes perfect!' Patients crowd around to listen to Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones play at psychiatric hospital that doubles as a recording studio

Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones are currently playing all their old hits and some new tunes too at a recording studio in Adelaide, which also doubles as a psychiatric hospital.

Rehearsals are taking place on the sound stage of Adelaide Studios, part of the South Australian Film Corporation, set in the expansive grounds that house Glenside Psychiatric Hospital.

The studio backs onto rows of sheltered bungalows used to rehabilitate mentally ill patients in the shadows of the Adelaide hills.

A roadie, clad in a leather jacket and tight jeans, carted a tray of coffees into the recording studio earlier as Angie was heard playing.

Brown Sugar, Satisfaction and the likes can be heard booming out from the building and a number of patients have gathered around for the free gig.

Security officers are roaming the 30-hectare campus and several revealed they were sent there for The Rolling Stones' protection and not for the patients.

Another member of the crew told Daily Mail Australia on Thursday outside the studio: 'We did a recce several weeks ago and discovered it's new and is one of the nest recording studios in Adelaide. Of course they know their tunes by now but practice makes perfect.'

Jagger's last visit to Australia was marred by tragedy as he learned of the death of his long-time girlfriend L'Wren Scott while in Perth.

Seven months on and the 71-year-old has returned Down Under as the Stones prepare to resume their 14 On Fire tour in Adelaide after postponing their Aussie shows back in March.

The singer was spotted for the first time in the country on Thursday, while making his way out of the Intercontinental Hotel.

Beaming at his fans, the rocker cut a very different figure to that fateful night he found out about L'Wren's tragic death outside a Perth restaurant.

Making his way to an Audi with blacked out windows, the legendary singer was covered up head to toe, donning a pair of grey trousers, a blue shirt under a matching blue knit jumper, a navy felt blazer and one of her signature long scarfs.

Earlier bandmate Ronnie Wood also emerged from the same hotel, with the two rockers heading to the studios.

Mick and Ronnie are in the country for the Rolling Stones 14 On Fire tour with the first show kicking off on October 25 at Adelaide Oval.

The wild-haired rocker blinked against the glare of the sunshine, telling Daily Mail Australia: 'I'm settling in finally. It's great to be back. I'm loving the sunshine'.

Dressed in a purple top, pale blue T shirt and colourful purple trainers, he tripped on the steps of the hotel, lifted his yellow rimmed-sunglasses to check the step, and chuckled: 'Blimey, f**k me.'

Asked if he was looking forward to the band's first concert in Adelaide on October 25, he nodded enthusiastically saying: 'It's going to be bloody cracking.

From there the band - which also consists of Charlie Watts and Keith Richards - will head to Perth for two shows.

They'll also hit Victoria, New South Wales and then Brisbane.

You Can't Always Get What You Want! Rolling Stones sound check at Adelaide Oval forces esteemed violinist Niki Vasilakis to cancel her cultured cocktail concert

By SARAH SAYERS FOR DAILY MAIL AUSTRALIA
PUBLISHED: 18:02 EST, 19 October 2014

The men from The Rolling Stones make sure they are seen and heard when they arrive on tour.

Adelaide violinist, Niki Vasilakis, isn't buzzing with excitement, though, along with the cities true rock fans.
Her planned 'cocktail concert' at the Festival Centre this Thursday in the city has been canned after she heard the rock band had their very loud sound check at Adelaide Oval, just across the River Torrens on the same night.

Niki has cancelled her own concert planned for the same night as the bands noisy sound check on Thursday

Fearing her sophisticated sounds would be drowned out by drum and base, the musically gifted mother who had planned the intimate classical performance months ahead had no choice but to tell those who had booked tickets for the evening that the night was called off.

Niki, a world-class concert violinist who presented the popular SBS TV series 'Classical Destination' which aired in over 30 countries, is bitterly 'disappointed' at having to call of her night.

Her evening was set to run from six till eight pm - the exact same time The Rolling Stones sound check was planned for.
'It’s a huge dilemma for the Festival Centre ... we’ve just started the series and we are trying to get it off the ground,' she told Adelaide Now.

Mick Jagger arrived in Adelaide ten days before the Stones' concert. He seems to be settling into the city of churches, even dining at Hyde Park eatery Assaggio Ristorante.

THE Rolling Stones have made their first public appearance ahead of their rebooted Australian tour.

Their 14 on Fire tour starts at Adelaide Oval this Saturday, with the band posing for cameras but waiting for the concert to let their music do the talking. Only photographers and camera people were allowed at the photo call, with no reporters invited.

53,000 fans will see the Rolling Stones show in Adelaide with a handful of new tickets released on Thursday for those who missed out.

The Stones have shipped their entire production to Australia for what will looks set to be their last shows for the year, with no plans for 2015 announced yet either.

The Australian leg was postponed in March after the sudden death of fashion designer L’Wren Scott, Mick Jagger’s girlfriend.

Less than 2000 fans asked for refunds, with most hanging on to their tickets in a show of support for the band’s grieving period.

The Stones started touring again in May, with their last show in Denmark on July 3.

As they have not played in several months, the band flew into Adelaide ten days ahead of their performance for intensive rehearsals.

Fans who somehow eavesdropped on the band’s rehearsals - which have lasted up to four hours - have posted details of what they heard on social media.

As with the rest of the shows, the band is joined by former guitarist Mick Taylor, who played on Sway and Midnight Rambler during rehearsals in Adelaide.

Diehards were also thrilled by the inclusion of Shine a Light in rehearsals, although the band frequently alter their setlist. There is also debate over whether the band will invite guest musicians to join them on stage, as they have done for many shows overseas.

Adelaide’s own Jimmy Barnes will open for the Stones on Saturday. Gates open at 5pm, with Barnsey on at 7pm and the Stones playing from 8.30pm until approximately 11pm.

The tour then goes to Perth, Melbourne, Hanging Rock in Macedon, Sydney, the Hunter Valley, Brisbane and Auckland.

Rob & Mobbsy are there. I'm in Melbourne waiting my turn. Temperature boiling hot in Adelaide last few days. Stage is now up as you can see. But here's something I have been whingeing about on Facebook. Appears the stage is only to be used once in Oz, then again for the Auckland show. So the 2 other outdoor gigs wont feature this stage. I am going to Hanging Rock as well. What the hell are we getting then? Kinda bummed paying the same amount but getting sub-standard stage by the sound of it. Unless the 2 outdoor shows are getting the indoor stage. Time will tell I suppose.

I love the pictures from the photo shoot. Bunch of 70-year old kids! Have fun Aussies. I'll dig up a Australia '73 boot tonight and spin it in your honour.

It's cool. Only the Stones could walk into a press event, stand there and fool around, and walk off without a word.

'Dead Flowers' a very ironic choice considering the reason for the postponement of the shows in the first place.

Interesting for the same reason that theyve rehearsed 'Shine a Light' too.

Watch those nipples, Ronald.
Barry Humphries, the Melbourne-born humourist, once told how a friend of his had his nipple bitten off by a koala bear who mistook it for a eucalyptus tree. Humphries noted that, in such incidences, 'Nipples never heal'.

They played to a sell-out 53,000 strong crowd at Adelaide Oval on the weekend.

And before leaving the South Australian city, which was the first stop on the bands tour of Australia, The Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger and Charlie Watts got a taste of one of the venue's other major must-sees.

The veteran rockers were able to hold the Cricket World Cup trophy on Thursday after enjoying an exclusive tour of The Bradman Museum with iconic sportsman Don Bradman's son John.
