No you are not...always found them to be rather boring.
Can't imagine what demos would sound like without all the  production...
maybe better than the release, who knows?

Well, you could listen to them and then make an informed statement.  The link contains youtube versions of all the tracks.

This is good stuff.

These aren't actually demos but early studio takes that resemble the versions from the April and June 1975 U.S. tours of the States.  You can put together the alternate Wish You Were Here that Gilmour advocated With the long SOYCD on one side and You Got to Be Crazy and Raving and Drooling on the other.

I will have to take your word for it  Zack...I couldn't get thru the first 2 min of any of those songs...

I did see The Wall tour at Nassau Collisium... I was in 10th grade at the time...that was okay, but really self indulgent. It was my first arena show...(followed by the Stones in 1981)
There are a few songs i do like by them...CN...RLH...and The first song on the first album along with that bicycle song too.

Floyd is  a damn good band. A lot more to their stuff than just the spacey shit. Would like to hear some of these outtakes. I'm a big fan.

What sweetcharmedlife and Zack and Mojoman said.

Animals is one of my favorite albums of all time. And just out of curiosity, I listened to some arbitrary Pink Floyd albums today, and I found out that I really like them. Those were Atom Heart Mother, Ummagumma and The Lost Cut. They're not masterpieces, but they're very carefully produced, interestingly packaged, that I don't care about the bombast. They are wonderful as sonic background, with some moments of beauty. And Animals IS one of the best rock albums ever made. As a concept it's pure and as music it has "Dogs", amongst other three or four tracks.

Of course they are not perfect. Sometimes, during Atom Heart Mother, I was wishing to shut the thing off and put on some Ramones. But patience has its virtues. And I like cows and breakfasts a lot.

Well, to each its own. For instance, I'm still not a Hendrix fan, although I know he was a very important thing in rock history. Likewise, I can use any U2 Cd as a coaster; and I only "like" Nirvana (or any other humorless, but talented, stuff) in small dosis. But that doesn't mean that I'm right; it's one of those "taste" issues.

Its funny but I truly have never listened to Dark Side other than tracks from the radio. Love Shine on You Crazy Diamond but the rest I can live without. Super popular band though with fans like us.
