just listen to All down the line from 05/05 ? whaow , really shitty ...
why when you have Mick Taylor backstage ?
Ronnie is a good guitar player but not a solist , he is very good on riffs and arpeges even on bass.

IMO Taylor should be doing a 3 song set, any 3 songs…. one song is retarded!

I think I could live him with him doing just one song—but why does it have to be the *same* song?!

The mind boggles...

....and IMO Taylor should be doing the whole show and whoever is playing they should definitely be playing 'I Wanna Be Your Man' preferably with Wyman replicating his stunning bass playing of the original!

It seems many people are complaining about Mick Taylor's one song appearance. While I would like more songs from him, I appreciate the fact he was invited and I am enjoying this 2013 tour. Who would have thought Mick would ever be on stage with them again? I suggest we all just enjoy what we have right now.

I'm with you, but at the same time, I can't help but feel like Moses at the Promised Land: I can see it, but I can't go in!

This is Keiths doing....deep down I don't think he wants to see Ronnie pushed aside by Taylor who "quit". Especially now that Ronnie has cleaned up and is playing very well. Just my nickles worth.

It's not Keith. It's Jagger. Trust me.

To elaborate: the straitjacket on Taylor is a consequence of Jagger's reluctance to deviate from the setlist generally. There's no animus or grudge toward MT. It's just Jagger being Jagger as he is on every tour. The rarities must be extracted from him like teeth.

I get the vibe from this board and the others (IORR, Shidobee, etc.) that the fans are not really happy with the band right now. Starting with high ticket prices, the lack of Taylor beyond one of their greatest songs, the guest appearances, the safe set lists that abandon everything post Tattoo You, even the college marching bands that opens the show; it's all been beaten into the ground. I've also seen a few mindless posts about "Where is Blondie?" Jesus fucking Christ. Who the hell cares??????????

The only thing I have a complaint about is the setlists. I find it odd that the 40 Licks tour, which was to celebrate their 40th year together, featured many out-of-this-world setlists. The 50 and Counting should have continued that trend, but guess what? I am going to love every safe warhorse when I see them and not complain once. I'm hopeful they will mix up the setlist a little more as the tour continues, but I will enjoy them performing the phone book.

So, in short, nobody should complain. But youre complaining about setlists. OK.

(Actually, I think the setlists arent too bad at all so far)

I'm free to complain since I rarely do about this band!

That sounds like a 1966 Stones song lyric that ended up being discarded!

If Mick Taylor wants a really good laugh, I can tell him a funny story about a guy who quit The World's Greatest Rock & Roll Band and wound up broke, playing in small bars.

Sure we can lose 1 or 2...but when is that not the case ( SMU, Miss You or one of the new ones)...but It is a fairly decent survey of their career
23 songs from about 10 or 12 albums...depending how you keep score

Yeah ,but we don't know the story or what went on, could be Mick T. became a really bad Heroin addict, & that was the only way out for him, remember '74 unlike today Hard Drugs on Stones Tour was common.

We've only had two proper shows so far. In different cities. They'll shake it up more as the tour goes on, Im sure - I'd expect a fair bit of variety where theyre playing multiple nights.

The absence of opening acts for that kind of money is poor form, IMO - but I'm impressed by the fact that theyre playing almost 2 and a half hours and about 23 songs per night. More than I would have imagined.

Last third of the show really needs shaken up, though. Its barely changed in three decades.

With a 23 song set list, having Mick Taylor on one song is a total lost opportunity.

I am surprised -- once you break down that wall of egos and bring him on, bring him on right.

Putting my request in now.

DC show - Love in Vain, Can't You Hear Me Knocking, Gimme Shelter.

It is the right thing to do :wow

Dump Wood. Put Wyman on a cross channel ferry. Get the show across to Forest National and lets have Gimme Shelter with Mick T....after an opening 'I Wanna Be Your man' with BW's incredible bass line!  I'll pay silly money for that one....too!!

At least notes, melodic fluid notes as well, are being played.  Having watched another video of MR from the opening night I know that MJ gets off on the guitar sound of MT.  If you recall Live at the Max during IORR, Mick starts to really move to the groove of the guitars which Keith notices and takes great satisfaction in.

He was moving in much the same way during some of MT's notes.

I agree with Nanky,  at least a "Love in Vain/MR" two song set.

Have you noticed that Ronnie is playing a Les Paul instead of his usual Strat, that's to make Mick T. feel at home, that's usually Mick T's guitar.

I sense the sarcasm, but Mick DID sing the shit out of it back in '06-'07.  I'd rather have him being enthusiastic about one I am lukewarm towards rather than have him be lukewarm towards one about which I am enthusiastic.   I'd be happy with a tired warhorse being replaced by Streets Of Love.  I also sense this is a minority opinion.   :smilestu

Without the B-Stage, I'm feeling the best slot for "Dance Little Sister" is now in the 3-song encore slot.

A little somethin somethin to send the folks home happy.
