The Stones have forced me to see some really awful bands over the years...the Commodores, Journey, and Foreigner all leap to mind...I'm not going to any of these shows, but no opener ain't the reason why!

Got to see some third-rate, wannabe comedian step in for Los Lobos in Houston '05.

What a forgettable experience that was.  :forfucksake

anyone who say George Thorogood in Philly 1981, knows some openers for The Stones can blow the doors off...

That Journey experience will haunt me til the end.
At least they were booed off the stage.

I still remember the Melody Maker's  analysis of Journey's performance at the 2nd JFK show the day before that. ..."but first a word about Journey - and that word is terrible. Steve Perry sang like a mortally wounded dog..."

You should count yourself lucky. I booked tickets for Paris in 1995 and THEN they announced that Bon Jovi would be the opener. I was half wishing my plane would nose-dive into the English Channel on the way over.

Yeah it worked. Then the Stones snubbed them when they went to do a photo op together.
