With the mammoth stage for U2 I have to wonder if the Stones will be content being outdone spectacle wise? The stage is so much larger and sound system apparently too I wonder in these economic times if the Stones will even try or actually could top it? Its likely that gross is safe (maybe forever) but the sheer spectacle seems in jeopardy. I know music should count most but ya gotta wonder. Cant see the boys embarking on a small scale arena tour in the wake of U2's extravaganza.

i doubt it myself. i don't understand the hype for u2 anyway. they are just 4 guys and they have no variety...no piano, no nothing. i don't see why they are soooo popular.

i like some of there songs.

my answere is the stones probably don't care.

the ticket pricing structure of the U2 tour will ensure that even if they tour for three years instead of the planned two, there isnt a chance in hell of that happening.

The Stones fans who seem to think of this as important can sleep easily in their beds.

Unless there's hyperinflation similar to that in Zimbabwe or in Germany after the Wall Street Crash, that record is pretty much secure for the next decade at least.
