Title: Sara

Does anyone know much about this woman? I've never seen her on TV. I've never read any interviews. A different temperment than Yoko Ono?

she's always been mysterious to me....
but dylan is fairly autobiographical and through the music, sara seems complex..
i always wondered who the main insiration was for all those great songs like 'just like a woman', 'positively 4th street' etc...
was it suzy rotello, joan baez, sara?
i always saw sara as the main theme in his music, but im not a dylan expert.

you mentioned yoko,
i always believed that the most difficult, often alienating, compicated and impossible women inspire the best work in artists.

How true. That's why I'm where I am today.  ;D

Depends on the song.  "Visions of Johanna" is most likely Joan Baez.  But I think Bob only stated his inspiration explicitly once:  "Staying up for days in the Chelsea Hotel/Writing 'Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands' for you/Sara, oh Sara"

'Just Like a woman' was inspired by Edie Sedgewick.

'Positively 4th Street' was an unfond farewell to the backstabbers on the Village folk scene.

Four of their own (Jesse, Jakob, Maria and Samuel) - plus Anna, Sara's daughter from a previous marriage.

To answer texile's previous question - yep, he's every bit as cryptic as Jagger. Maybe more.
