ah,.....the marvellous 'Pass the Mic' debacle from 2000 or so. Mick does 'Yoof TV'. Remember watching that and wondered how on earth he managed to get roped into doing that one. Another in a long line of 'Lets Watch Mick From Behind The Sofa' embarrassments.

Not quite up there in the toe-curling category of the performance of Lets Work on Top of The Pops as 'Worst Stones Moment Ever', but it can be filed alongside 'The Nightingale' and 'Bent' in the 'What the Hell Were you Thinking?' category.

You have to wonder what kind of people advise him at times.

Why is it embarrassing? i think it is ok when he does something for children, they are the future fans.

He got good reviews for Bent, no? As for this interview, he seemed a bit out of his element but at least the interviewer seemed to have a glancing familiarity & respect for Mick & the Stones. I'd hate to see Mick on Letterman or Leno in this country.

if he's concerned about having future fans, pricing them out of his shows is a funny way of going about it.

However, that said, you make a fair point in principle. [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

I watched this at the time (I think it was on one Saturday lunchtime or something) and thought that of all the 'youth' shows for him to go on, it was an odd choice. I think it was quite obscure and a short-lived programme. Maybe he did it as a favour to someone he or one of his kids knew?

The kids were more embarrassing than anything else I suppose, maybe I was unfairly damning him by association.

Depends on your take of it. He got the film more press than it would have got solely because of the surreal image of it featuring Mick in drag. Did anyone watch the film beyond his cameo in the first five minutes?

He'd never do it. Don't think Mick and Keith have much time for them. Keith certainly doesnt like Letterman too much. There's a long history there, apparently. Supposedly the 'head on a platter' bit in the 'Saint of Me' video is a dig in Dave's direction, going back to an old spat.

Good for Keith! I've grown tired of Letterman's shtick & I never really liked Leno's to begin with. I did watch all of Bent & it was a bit of a slog towards the end. If I recall correctly, Mick reappears towards the end.
