Title: Sopranos song question for my 'SMART' music lovers Post by steeldrivinghammer on Oct 6th, 2008 at 10:36am
People, folks, anybody.................................
On Season 3, Episode 12: "Amour Fou" When Tony is laying on a bed smoking a cigar and the Mercedes dealer woman at the end of that scene, plays the song and dances to it. Please people, I love this song and cannot find it on the web. I think the title is "Why Is It So Hard" it's a fast but loose rock n roll tune. It's like The Faces w/ a hint of Georgia Satellites. Please find it. Thank you so much all you crazy bastards. |

" Please find it.
Thank you so much all you crazy bastards. " Good morning Baby Steelie ....... Found it !!!!! : " You'll be swell! You'll be great! Gonna have the whole world on the plate! Starting here, starting now, honey, everything's coming up roses! Clear the decks! Clear the tracks! You've got nothing to do but relax. Blow a kiss. Take a bow. Honey, everything's coming up roses! Now's your inning. Stand the world on it's ear! Set it spinning! That'll be just the beginning! Curtain up! Light the lights! You got nothing to hit but the heights! You'll be swell. You'll be great. I can tell. Just you wait. That lucky star I talk about is due! Honey, everything's coming up roses for me and for you! You can do it, all you need is a hand. We can do it, Mama is gonna see to it! Curtain up! Light the lights! We got nothing to hit but the heights! I can tell, wait and see. There's the bell! Follow me! And nothing's gonna stop us 'til we're through! Honey, everything's coming up roses and daffodils! Everything's coming up sunshine and Santa Claus! Everything's gonna be bright lights and lollipops! Everything's coming up roses for me and for you! I love that scene...
The song you're referring to is "Affection" by The Lost Boys. Lead vocal by none other than "Miami" Steve Van Zandt. You can get it on "Peppers and Eggs" which is a 2-CD set featuring the music from Series 2 & 3. |

Its a gem, but I guess when the band you play in and your favourite other band happen to be the greatest two bands in the world you cant go wrong.

Sound like Open G strumming?
Ronnie on Lead? Charlie maybe on the steady part? Great tune. Why didn't the Stones write this one? They can. |

Lead vocal by none other than "Miami" Steve Van Zandt.[quote] Silvio? Springsteens right hand? It's just too good. Not Springsteen but Van Zandt. But howe ironic though eh? lol |

Some of Steve's non ESB work is outstanding, especially the stuff he wrote and produced for Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes (the two albums he produced with Gary US Bonds in the early 80s were great fun too). His four solo albums are pretty variable in quality but I'd recommend the first one "Men Without Women" which came out in 1982 just before he left the E Street Band. He's effectively put his solo career on the backburner in recent years though, as he's other strings to his bow, acting, touring with Bruce, his radio show etc. |
