Keith Richards wins fight to keep local A&E open
4/05/2008

(What's this?)Keith Richards has won his battle to keep his local A&E department open.

The Rolling Stones guitarist led a 10,000- strong protest march last October to save the unit at St Richard's Hospital, Chichester, West Sussex, just five miles from his country estate.

Now West Sussex Primary Care Trust has recommended it stay open, and the move will be rubber-stamped next week.

It is not the first time "Keef" has fought local officialdom. In 2002 he successfully campaigned to save an acre of woodland which is home to a bat colony.

I agree, even if seeing Keef as an activist is a bit weird. But he's like wine, getting better every year ;)

I love A&E. I especially love the concerts and the show Intervention. And I love those infomercials. And don't get me started on the cooking shows which absolutely rule:

A&E? Isn't that a cable channel? Is it worth saving anyways?

I'm hoping Livingstone Hospital in Dartford will be threatend with  closure,  so he'll make an appearance there!  :D

There is a huge modern hospital just up the road from it, so It'll happen sooner rather than later
