JADE JAGGER - JAGGER DENIES NAZI KNIFE LINK

Caption: Jade Jagger. TOD's Art and Film Party held at 1 Marylebone Road - Arrivals. London, England - 6.03.08

JADE JAGGER's representative has refuted claims she called on inspiration from the Nazis to design an ice pick for a vodka brand.

The daughter of Rolling Stones star Sir Mick was commissioned by Belvedere to create the dagger-shaped ice pick, and was rumoured to have copied a Nazi knife for the final product.
A source tells the New York Post's PageSix.com, "She removed the swastikas and eagles and redesigned it as her own creation. Belvedere obviously did not know."

Jagger was then reported to have told Women's Wear Daily, "The dagger's a very English symbol, very authoritarian. I've got tons."

However, Jagger's representative Amanda Harding tells PageSix.com, "She doesn't own any.
"She (Jagger) was inspired by the King Arthur legend. She has influences, as does everyone. This is hurtful to her. She's such a well-respected designer. It's completely untrue."
Belvedere's dagger, with 12 carats of diamonds, retails for $250,000 (GBP125,000).

Since when was it outlawed to use Nazi symbolism to make art? People have been doing it for decades, geesh. Thats why its freakin art people!  The knife is probably bad ass. Its not like she's wearing a freakin swastika on her arm for goodness sakes.

I don't see how anyone would know it was a replica of a Nazi knife unless they were well versed in Nazi German history. :-? It's certainly not like the flack Brian got when he posed in the Nazi uniform, with his foot on the doll. Or even Prince Henry when he wore the swastika on his sleeve at that dress up party...

This is so fascinating. It's an everlasting moment in popular history. And don't get me started about what cereal I had for breakfast. I could talk about that for hours.

As a collector of blades, I've gotta say that's one badass lookin' dagger.
And there's something very sexy about this pic.

This is awfully silly.  Aside from the handle, they are not that similar.

Yes, that pic is very sexy, as is the beach shot.  She's a little pigeon-toed, it appears.

Using the mentioned symbolisms or symbols - is a thin line.
here in Germany it indeed is outlawed to show, display or sell that kind of stuff - for very obvious reasons.
there still are neo-nasty groups on the go and they need to be stopped.

"Why remove the swazi? You don't edit history!!!"  - well, different rules in different countrys. here it will get you arrested, which I appreceate.
as for the dagger, if you digg deep enough in history, you'll probably find similar items in the roman empire.
I guess it is allowed to have such a knife in a collection without the symbols, but it may cause some uproar.

like I said - thin ice.
