Title: Appreciation For the Board- Synpathy For the Devil
Post by IrelandCalling4 on Apr 16th, 2008 at 6:22am
A new Board!

    Just popping in to say Howdy, 'Dia dhuit a chairde',

    'Caislean' (Castle) Rocks Off is back is business and thank Goodness for that!

      With many appreciation threads abounding, how about one for the board itself,

      Why? Well, one will do most anything to curb the boredom at work sometimes....^

      Roll on Stones World Tour 2009 - 2010!!!!

       'Slainte a chairde' (Cheers to one an' all)

'Dia dhuit a chairde'!

   Irish for 'Howdy'!

    BroooceFest, yup, still not sure how many nights I'll be attending, though I would up going to all three in Nov. '06^   Maybe two this time, but we'll see...

      Greetings Meg, you're named after quite a great song you know, Jagger's "Party Doll", a perhaps underrated tune from a severely underrated solo career. That's right, I said it, methinks solo Jagger is underappreciated. Even 'Shes The Boss', while no classic, it has some darn good stuff.

       Groove on, Party Doll!

I knew there was reason why I liked you.... ;)

And that sure is a lot of words for "Howdy"  and I am sure you know I can't say it either ;D

'Sin sin'(Alright) Meg, if 'tis Irish Words you want, 'tis Irish words you shall get  (better now than when I'm half drunk at the next stones meet-up^)

                                  ** 'Gaeilge'(Irish) Lesson For Meg **

Complete with phoenetic translations after each word/phrase, as close as I can phoenetically get anyway^

'An bhfuil tu reidh'? (Are you ready?)

Dia dhuit = Hello (Dee-a g-with)

a chairde = friends (a cor-ja)

Dia dhuit a chairde! = Howdy Friends

Slainte = Cheers  [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]  (Slawn-cha)

Abu!!! = WooHoo! (A-boooooo!

Is Mise! = It's me!  (Iss Misha)

Conas ta tu? = How the hell are ya?  (Kuniss thaw two)

cailin = girl (Colleen)

A sentence? Okay:

 Dia dhuit a chairde, is mise, Meg, conas ta tu??  (Howdy dudes and dudettes/friends, it's me Meg, how the heck are ya?)

     'Slainte a chailin'

I really like Ya-Ya's.. In fact, I've come to really dig all the live stuff I have from 69 to 81, bootlegs and all. I feel like I own great historical documents of my fav. band. I got no complaints except i wish Leed was complete... oh well... boo- fucking- hoo!
