Title: Like a thief in the night - no, not the song.
Post by FotiniD on Apr 15th, 2008 at 4:38pm
One month ago, some creep stole my mobile phone from my bag in a bus.
Now tonight, as soon as I turned off the lights and called it an early night, just on 23.30, another creep came into my yard and stole my 1-year-old bike  >:( >:( >:( >:(

I'm so pissed I can't begin to describe it. It's not like it was the most expensive bike on earth, but heck, I bought it, I didn't go breaking and entering to get it.

And I'm even more pissed with myself because from one point onwards I had stopped locking it up, believing I lived in a "safe" neighborhood. Yeah right.

My mum heard him and chased him down the street - thank GOD she didn't reach him, God knows what those creeps will do to keep what they stole. Then the police showed up - thirty minutes after we called. Of course our pretty boy was long gone, and even the cops told us there was no point pressing charges and that, pretty much, there is nothing we can do. Well thanks for nothing.

Yeah, I know it's old news, but this world has become so messed up it hurts. I live in the quietest town you can imagine, most people know each other by first names, and yet there are still creeps who will open the door to your yard, come in, take your stuff and run for it. The nerve is what bothers me most.

sounds like you are on a tad of a losing streak there. ......... >:(

i would probably give the cell phone up for lost, but as far as the bike thing goes...if its a small enought town, chances are it might surface again.  good luck, i hope you find it.

bikes rule...i love mine.  i ride it all the time.

Ya know, tootsie, I've gone out for the day & left my house wide open & everything's been fine. Perhaps you need to move to a better 'hood?

That's just mean. Have some compassion.

That absolutely sucks, Fotini. Hope he rides your bike off a cliff.

The nerve not only bothers me---but it scares me too. You are right about people being brazen and doing whatever, and heaven help you if you catch them! It's just as easy to kill someone nowadays as to run away.... :(
