Title: Help center
Post by VoodooChildInWland on Apr 14th, 2008 at 11:08am
Hey people

Your old usernames and passwords don't work here, you need to register

You can choose the board layout, the default is the one we made trying to make this new board look like the old one

We're learning but we need to start now before is too late, we have plenty of time to work and improve the new board

Great job.  You deserve a 19.3% raise but I'm not going to give it to you.

Is it me or is default font size a little small?

Also - have you figured out how to embed youtube clips yet?

Scary that we can modify posts w/o an [edited by] appearing below.

how do you keep your old avatar?

Just use the same file you were using before for your avatar, there's a place to put the url in your profile.

I'm a little confused about the "attach" function?  What exactly is that for???

I just have a problem with knowing how to add a image (Pic) to my signature? where is the place where this is done in my profile??

Title: Re: Help center
Post by FotiniD on Apr 15th, 2008 at 1:44am
I'm sure it's posted somewhere already and I missed it, but I got two questions:

a) What's with the signature scrolling? Can we change this or will it stay like that?
b) How about embedding Youtube videos?

Thank you kindly  :)

LOL

for those who don't know what that salary increase means check this image http://www.rocksoff.org/19dot3.jpg (beware, not explicit  material but could be "not nice" for some fine people here)

Here we don¿'t have archives, the good thing is that all the threads are "alive" on the main board, but the other side is that someone can reply an old post with years of inactivity

How do you post pictures larger than l00KB?
or a larger size than what it says when it won't post the damn picture?

How does a person post more than one picture?

I use Photobucket myself, as usual with most sites, have to join (it's free, just a username & password required) just upload the picture from your computer (there's a place for this) after upload, there's a option to Edit this Image, click on that,  will ask for what size you want, choose that, I usually choose message board (it's next to the biggest size) have to click on replace original,  after it's done, go to where it's (img)etc........ (the very bottom code) highlite the entire code (if any of it is missing, it won't work) the code is longer then what is shown, have to highlite it until it moves ahead, to get the full code.
After it's all highlighted, drag & copy it to the barre on your browser (I have Firefox myself) repeat the same operation for more pictures, that's how one get's more then one pic.
Then of course the rest is go to this site, open a post, & drag & drop the code's, (from your browser barre)  only thing is, one has to be deleted, (there's two of the same (IMG)...Etc...otherwise one get's the same pic. twice, I don't know why this is?? hit F5 on your keyboard after you post it (a trick I learned from Open G) & that's how I do it.

Thanks HOS, I will try that.

I was putting in one picture at a time per the  Browse feature and I guess it is not possible to load more than one
picture using that particular feature.

Photobucket sounds easier to work with. I will see if I can do it.

THANKS AGAIN.

Okay I have been messing with this new forum for a while now and I have the font changes almost down in a way sorta.... :-/

I am having trouble with the photos again. Is the only way to post photos of a larger size than 100 KB is to upload
on Flickr or Photobucket or wherever? My photos are larger than the size indicated just from selecting from my
own photo albums and not from Photobucket or a site like that.  Until I get my degree in Rocket Science I am still befuddled
as to how to do the photos in particular not to mention the thousand and one ways one can probably do the font
changes!!!

I don't want to upload all my pictures in a site like Photobucket, or Flickr if possible. I would rather just select from
my own photo album but it appears I am restricted by size.

Any info or  help would be greatly appreciated. Linda

Well just select the pics  you want to show on a thread and upload them to Photobucket.
no need to upload all your pics at once - your Bucket account will eventually grow.

...or am I missing something?

I guess it is only fair (maybe?) to say I have a Macintosh OS X Leopard (no big deal just identifying what I am using)
and I am wondering if the instructions you have provided will work the same as a PC? Sorry to keep asking I am just
learning this and any help you provide is more then gratefully appreciated. Linda

I doesn't matter what operating system you're using - so yes, the instructions will work the same as on PC.

...and don't worry about asking - thats how you get answers. :areyoufuckingserious
