Title: Stones-related places in/near London Post by ronnie-woody on Jun 24th, 2024 at 4:36am
While looking at that Sticky Fingers thread (have been there in 2017), I was just wondering about Stones-related places in London and how many there are that I didn't visit yet...seeing how I'll be in London for 2-3 days in September, so maybe I could squeeze in another few to check out if you got some tips ;)
Places I've been to so far: Edith Grove Mick and Keith's houses they bought in the late 60s on Cheyne Walk No 9 Carnaby Dartford (the train platform, the houses were Mick and Keith grew up, their old school, the statues of them they erected like 2 or so years ago, the public library (which had an exhibition on the making of the statues and also a small Glimmer Twins in Dartford exhibit) The Troubadour jazz club where Charlie played before he joined the Stones Kings Road in Chelsea (the Chelsea drug store is now a McDonalds xD) The Hackney theatre where they presented the new album last year Sticky Fingers Hyde Park for the 1st show in 2022 (hopin and praying that I'll be able to add another London show, or two, next summer ;D ) Those are all the places that are coming to mind rn, I'm probably forgetting some idk ;D |

Oakley street off the Kings Rd is where Bowie lived and where Angela "caught" Mick and David in bed together.
Acclaimed Irish playwright Wilde lived at Number 87 with his mother Jane, while David Bowie lived in neighbouring number 89 in 1973. |

Cool, I had no clue about that place! Actually I really should start looking at some Bowie places in London, come to think of it, I only went to a few in NYC last month :)

Just up from Hampstead tube station on Holly Hill on the right, where Mike & Teeth lived for a year-ish, spookily (but seemingly)_unknowingly equidistant from Peter Cook's place & Cud Dud Moore's place.
