Title: Quick Brian question
Post by Paranoid Android on Mar 1st, 2023 at 7:18am
In honor of his 81st birthday yesterday, I just want to put together a Brian Jones setlist...

In your valued opinions, which would be the most noted (or rarity) songs that he influenced/wrote/played on?

Let's just start the list here with Paint It Black and move fwd from there...thanks Y'all!

Full transparency, I have been invited to be on a local radio show (my daughter's show)
this Friday and get to choose a few songs to play and talk about...figured, why not Brian?

For those of you keeping score at home...Friday, 5pm EDT, (New York),  www.wcomfm.org

As Mick has said many times, the last time they remember him contributing positively and beautifully was No Expectations.

May be overkill for your daughter's show, but Mick speaks about No Expectations here in Crossfire Hurricane, and some other great interview clips about Brian. Very said but one of the strongest portions of Crossfire Hurricane was this.

Who plays that Tyrolean-sounding acoustic guitar in Sittin' On a Fence?  It seems beyond Keith at the time, but I could be stupid here.

For me it's the slide guitar on Little Red Rooster

When Donovan, the legendary Donovan, his wife Linda and I made a radio special for Brian Jones in 2006, he said that Brian on Little Red Roostah is the best example for someone who wants to start a band

BTW, if you do "rewind" on that video, the frist was another interview with simultaneous translation to Spanish... live at the very moment with Donovan and Linda in Spain... Mallorca, a beautiful island in the Mediterranean Spain
