Don't wanna post any spoilers but they're doing a run through of the setlist right now and they've just dusted off an absolute jaw dropper of a choice from the Brian Jones era which I'd guarantee will bring the house down in any stadium.

Edit - and another mid 60's song that hasnt been played in decades.

Maybe the songs played so far wont all be played on opening night but its great to see that with the tour a couple of days away they're all on the shortlist

They look excited and healthy...can't wait for this tour.

That stage seems like an awful downgrade from the No Filter stage.
No Filter screens provided a great seat for everyone, IMO.
This seems to be a bit discriminating to the sides and upper sections.

Looks to resemble the ticker-tape/confetti motif of the latest tongue...but hard to tell.

That's my kinda curfew. I think they were onstage around 10.20 pm local time. When I saw them in Lisbon & Madrid in 2007, it was after 10 pm as well I think. Gigs start very late there!

Keith sounds good, although as is his usual form in a foreign country, he's cleverly trying to get round the fact that he doesnt speak the local language by addressing the crowd in English but in a Spanish accent. Its like something out of a 70's sitcom!

Well, I almost got it right...

My first instinct was, oh shit, they might have to postpone because
of the heightened risks and costs in Europe.

But once it was clear they were proceeding, my second instinct was
of course they were going to once again make sure it was a grand
spectacle, both from the cheap seats and for us at home on the internet

But mick as usual was way way ahead of the curve, obviously deciding
at least six months ago to downscale the production in anticipation of
much higher electricity and transportation costs

hell of a call, mick. while other big acts are having the economics of
their summer tours devastated by current realities, the Stones are
rolling on essentially unscathed.

wishing them and all attendees a helluva good time over the next
eight weeks

 

Lovely moments between Mick, Keith, and Ronnie at hte end of Out of Time. We know who was missing from that moment.

Mick's voice seemed a little off and he seemed to stay away from the higher notes. For example, on Beast of Burden. Age catches up to all, but it was a little surprising that it was on multiple songs.

So Jagger intros Out Of Time as stating (en Espanol with a French accent) its the first performance of the song...

Someone had better point him to the RO setlist pages...

Mick seemed less energetic, but the trade-off was that he sounded really good vocally. He's 78, yes, and he dodges the high notes, but he doesn't have that old, hardened, breathy tone of Daltrey and McCartney. Truly a marvel, even if the days of him sprinting from one end of the stage to the other are gone.
