Mick Jagger in Jamaica working on album

Jamaica Observer, Sunday, February 20, 2022

British rock icon Mick Jagger, one of the Rolling Stones' founders
and lead singer, is in Portland, Jamaica, to complete an album.

The 78-year-old musician told the Jamaica Observer on Saturday while
at the Port Antonio market that he was in the island to work on an album.
He declined to speak about the project but offered that he was delighted
to be in Jamaica, a country he always enjoys visiting.

Without any sources, I can reveal that Mick has been joined
by all the rest of the band in Jamaica and that the new album
release is planned for April...

please note Joss, Damian, and Dave all live part-time in Jamaica.
Billboard even named Joss 2018's Reggae Artist of the year.
Unfortunately SuperHeavy won't be touring to support the album,
as all the artists have prior commitments.

But who knows, maybe some day

and if that isnt enough good news, somebody else is coming back too...

So, to be clear, the new album is a SUPER EFFIN HEAVY album?!?

Gawd, I hope that this is just a poorly written article...is the "rest of the band" The Stones or the rest of the SHs ?? I can only hope that the "somebody else is coming back too" are the Stones...if so, excellent time management on Jagger's team.

Vogue Mag:

Geejam’s unusual combination of luxury and serenity, privacy and security,
along with the deeply rooted local culture surrounding the place, has drawn
many of the music industry’s biggest stars: Drake, Diplo, Katy Perry, Alicia Keys,
John Legend, No Doubt, Lily Allen, Amy Winehouse, and Florence and the Machine
have all traveled to Jamaica to relax and to record at Geejam. The Gorillaz wrote
their multiplatinum first album during a stay there.

It’s a kind of home away from home—the rhythm and schedule is dictated by
the artist themselves, not by any rules imposed by the studio. And they can walk
out onto the streets or beaches of Port Antonio and not be bothered by their own celebrity.

1) if you didn't see it, matt clifford a few days ago posted insta pics
under the title "vitamin d aids creativity". while most of the shots
seemed to be from port antonio, there was one of keith's "one love"
amp that of course stimulated the most interest, especially since
the guitar plugged into it is not one of keith's known ones.

verdict: inconclusive as to when and where

2) darryl yesterday did a very pleasant live insta Q&A "from chicago"
and certainly not dressed for the caribbean.  darryl says he has no idea
what's planned for the stones and that fans often know before he does.

verdict: whatever's going on in jamaica, darryl's not part of it

A Dave Stewart guitar plugged into Keith's amp ?

Can't get any more ONE LOVE than that, can you ?

Let them all pass all their dirty remarks
There is one question I'd really love to ask
Is there a place for the hopeless sinner
Who has hurt all mankind just to save his own billions?

Let's get together to fight this unholy Armageddon
So when the Man comes there will be no no doom
Have pity on those whose chances grow thinner
There ain't no hiding place from the Father of creation

Also, I think this color scheme is better:

Quoting Marley/Mayfield, yesterday I asked:

Quoting Sun Tzu, today Mick tweeted his answer:

Even the finest sword plunged into salt water will eventually rust

What's up with this? Who dropped the ball here? Why am I just now finding out about this?

Posted on timeisonourside:

Mid-to-late February 2022: Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, with Matt Clifford, are likely holding recording sessions at GeeJam Studios in the northeast Portland parish of Jamaica to resume work on the Rolling Stones' next album. (Mick Jagger posts pictures online on February 18 of his presence in the area, and reveals to a journalist he is there completing an album, while Matt Clifford posts a picture of a recording studio with Keith Richards' guitar, amplifier and picks.)

So, exactly what were Steve, Keith, Mick and Matt up to in Jamaica ?

1) PROBABLY finishing up some Charlie tracks for a SIXTY hits album

2) AND, according to Keith...

“We came up with eight or nine new pieces of material”

Speaking to CBS Sunday Morning yesterday (13 March), the guitarist
shared that he had been writing with frontman Mick Jagger “last week”,
along with drummer Steve Jordan, who began touring with the band
following the death of founding drummer Charlie Watts.

The legendary guitarist discussed the process of working with a
reconfigured team. “It’ll be interesting to find out the dynamics now
that Steve’s in the band,” he said. “It’s sort of metamorphosing into
something else.”

“We came up with some, eight or nine new pieces of material. Which
is overwhelming by our standards,” he added.

On their recent creative streak, the guitarist revealed, “Other times,
[writing songs] is like a desert.”

“It’s the muse thing,” the rocker remarked on the difficulties of coming up
with new songs. “If I could only find her address.”

Keith Richards says he’s been “playing a lot of bass” on The Rolling Stones’ new tracks
His switch in instrument added a "new angle" to the legendary band's sound, according to the musician

Hmm. In Jamaica drums and bass are often the foundation of a track.
But who then was manning the guitars?  A lot of people think the
obvious answer is Mick...

Maybe. But if you read this thread from the beginning it is clear
that the specific recording studio chosen is designed for larger
collaborative groups...

The most likely candidate as an additional participant is Waddy.
But ranking a close second is Dave, who has idolized Keith since
he was a kid...

Or how about both? It is not a preposterous idea...

Have you seen Mick's new Tweet. That's new set list hair, boys. New material will be ours soon. We predict The Stones have the song of the Summer.
