The stadium website says this:

U.S. Bank Stadium recommends wearing a face mask while indoors, even for those
who are fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination is not required for guests.

CBS/MSN says this:

The Rolling Stones “No Filter” tour stop in Minneapolis is this weekend. The band is
not requiring proof of vaccines or a negative test, but will require masks.

Mpls StarTribune:

7 places Mick Jagger should visit in the Twin Cities this weekend

He hit the town before Rolling Stones tour stops in Charlotte and Nashville.
Here are some suggestions before Sunday's big gig at U.S. Bank Stadium...

https://www.startribune.com/7-places-mick-jagger-should-visit-in-the-twin-cities-this-weekend/600107933/?refresh=true

Hmm. Its been a while since i lived there but...

The place i loved most was a little-known walking trail along the Mississippi that was
actually within the city limits. Originally an Indian trail, i didnt know it had a name,
but I see online that it is called the Winchell trail. Most of it had no railings so you
could scramble down the cliffs and soak your feet in the river. There were old
tire swings and even a reputed nude beach, though i never saw anybody naked
there. Me and my first missus would spend all day stoned, climbing up and down,
chewing 100-year-old ginseng root. And it did seem about a hundred years ago.
Very Huck Finn.

they've made the trail smoother and safer now, for better or worse, but i think the
timing might be right in terms of autumn colors...

...so this alt poster is very much for me. See the big white house near the
Bunge grain elevators -- i lived there. And that's Hennepin Ave where i worked
the evening shift at a hole-in-the-wall newsstand (with porno and underground
comics in the back room). Quite close to 9th St, as a matter of fact...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlI7vaxBm9o

in 1975 its where i saw the Stones. I remember how funny i thought it was that for
still-hippie Minnesota, instead of glam, Mick wore blue jeans. I also remember it as
the most athletic performance i've ever seen from him, in person or on video.
At the end when the band exited, Mick remained alone on stage, dead still,
in a deep Buddhist bow, as if he was our servant, as the waves of cheers and
applause washed over him for two or three minutes. In vain, as there was no encore.

NBC-KARE Minneapolis is running with this horseshit story again...

Did an Excelsior man inspire the Rolling Stones' song 'You Can't Always Get What You Want'?

The story of "Mr. Jimmy," and his possible connection to the Stones, is the talk of this
Minnesota town again with the band coming to Minneapolis this Sunday.

https://www.kare11.com/article/news/local/did-an-excelsior-man-inspire-the-rolling-stones-song-you-cant-always-get-what-you-want/89-01b2ab46-9027-4809-9aaa-020f4b2d9321#longform_chapter_3

And the song has nothing to do with Jimmy Miller either...

Mick hung with Hendrix at the Chelsea Drugstore. And he aimed that verse right at Jimi
as a warning that the brilliant guitarist was overdoing it. Unfortunately Jimi did not see it
as a friendly gesture, but rather as Mick trying to fuck with his head. That's why Jimi
responded with "Dolly Dagger".

More broadly of course the song is both a warning and encouragement to everyone,
including the man in the mirror who wrote it. And its not just alcohol, heroin etc that
you have to be careful with. Nothing is more practiced at the art of deception than
your own ego.

The song then takes it a step further with a profound statement of faith (thus the choir).
That if you forget about your ego-dreams and concentrate on your deep internal needs,
for healing forgiveness growth blah blah blah, then Jah will provide

I've personally found that to be true, but of course your mileage may vary...

Minnesota is promoted as the "Land of 10,000 Lakes"

Actually it has over 11 thousand greater than 10 acres

One can travel great distances, as did the region's Native Americans,
by canoe, with relatively short portages...

The Portage by Winslow Homer

the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness has over 1,200 miles of
paddling routes. At 1 million acres in size, you can spend a month in
the backcountry of northeastern Minnesota and still barely scratch the
surface. There are thousands of lakes and streams and you can spend
your nights at one of over 2,000 designated campsites.

this happened tonite, so i'll put it on this thread...
(doesnt deserve a thread of its own)

i was watching tampa-chicago and the announcer said that at his press conference
this week tom brady was asked what he thought about mick and the stones replacing
tom and the bucs at tampa stadium next weekend

without missing a beat, Tom said "yeah, he's still pretty good... i mean, for a guy his age"

*rimshot*

the bookies now have it -2.60 that mick makes the exact same joke in reverse next
week onstage in tampa. so if i was you, i would take some of that action.

but of course i'm not you. so i don't know what the hell to do...

according to the StarTribune (in their review)

More significantly, though, he snuck in snippets of Prince lyrics into what turned out to be
two of the night's highlights – "Miss You" ("I wish there was no Black or white," he quoted
"Controversy" to the face of his bassist, Darryl Jones, who is Black) and the epic 12-minute
"Midnight Rambler" (inserting "I only want to see you in the purple rain") featuring guitarist
Ronnie Wood's serrated boogie.

Yahoo (in their review) noted

Jagger did his typical thing where he gives localized shout outs and claimed he ate a Jucy Lucy
at Matt's Bar, another one at the 5-8 Club and that he washed them down with a Grain Belt

hee hee! he washed them down with a Grain Belt
(note: that sign was not part of the orig Hennepin Ave photo, i pasted it in special)

Mick's vocals are not what they once were. Keith's fingers, swollen with arthritis, are not what they once were. The kit is, of course, not what it once was, although the attempt was admirable.

Still, the boys still have some of the old magic. Connection, Monkey Man and Fool to Cry had me grinning ear to ear. And Rambler with some Robert Johnson thrown in was otherworldly. Mick is still world class harmonica player.

But I still miss Charles.

Fool to Cry from the show. This is lovely. Don't mean to be a downer, but I really miss Charlie on stuff like this. Some beautiful playing from Chuck Leavell and the guitars.

hmm. i may have been wrong about that. mick may have simply taken
his ghost game to the next level...

i found this photo of 9th and Hennepin on a paranormal site. as a skeptic,
i assumed it has been photoshopped, but i ran it through an analyzer app
and it is 100% original and untouched !

so, Holden and Bitch and everybody in tampa, keep your eyes peeled !
maybe it'll be mick in the flesh or maybe he'll just be having some fun,
practicing astral projection for a split second in your peripheral vision
