Title: Jagger on Stern Wednesday 29 Sep about 1pm EDT
Post by Paranoid Android on Sep 27th, 2021 at 7:10am
Just announced this morning, Mick Jagger will grace the Howard Stern Show for a special. The show that normally run live from 7am-11am EDT will start at 1pm.

Channel 100 SiriusXM

Stern is a HUGE fan of the band and man.
I think Sterns biggest hurdle will be
to stop being a fanboy and stay on track.
Something he tends to not do at time when he interviews McCartney,
even to this day after Paul's 5th appearance.

Thanks for that. Surprised that Mick is doing this show - has he ever done it before?

He has not.

I think that, surprisingly, Charlie and/or Ronny did the (FM) show a long time ago, before satellite radio existed...it has been mentioned a few times...but I am not sure what the reason was...maybe a side project of a sorts...Barbarians, maybe...fuzzy on that though.

If Mick isn’t a tight ass like Plant was and just open minded like Macca was it’ll be epic.
Stern is a super fan and will do a great job even if Mick is boring.

LOL...for sure...Stern got  Macca to say that he and John would jerk-off together/each other in those gross dressing rooms in Hamburg.

Jagger can drop his guard and have fun for a change...the last time he wasnt such a stiff, was a few years ago when he was talking about a baby gorilla in a zoo (or something like that..it was funny/weird)

Ronnie and Bernard were on the show right around Slide on This. Late 1991 or early 1992. It was after Ronnie got hit by a car.

These things are invariably disappointments because of the conditions that are likely attached to agreeing to an interview like this. Still, you never know and they may surprise everyone. Hasn't Howard Stern said before how Mick was close to or the top of the list of people he wants to interview? I thought I remember something like that.

He says that jut about every time he has a great interview with someone (ex/ Macca)...John Lennon is the top or the list with Jagger/Richards at 2nd place.

I am super excited!

John Lennon is still top of his list?

I guess he's not as up to date on his news coverage as I would have thought.

I'm not surprised Mick hasnt done it before. Howard is a loose cannon and I didnt think it would appeal to the control freak side of his personality

Not the biggest Stern fan so others will have more knowledge, but that seems to be the old Stern. He seems to have become a lot more orthodox in the last decade. Still an outstanding interviewer though.

I'd forgot about that. Remember having a tape of it somewhere. August '92.

That accident was a bit before that though - late 1990. I think he broke both legs.

A great clip of Judd Apatow on Stern talking about meeting the Stones with Ben Stiller, going to Ronnie Wood's birthday, and some amazing lines from Keith Richards.

I am hugely disappointed that Keef wont be there.
I cant wait to watch it on the app.

He is interviewing Dave Grohl today about his new book and the present tour. His third time this year on Stern.

I hope they chat about Jagger a bit.

LOL that was fucking brilliant. Great story.

That would have been just before the Voodoo Lounge tour started.

Deserves a bump

If you cant hear it live, channel 100, start at 1pm.

The interview should be on the app for a few months as well as HowardTV channel on you tube within a day or so

Thanks for that - that was fun. Wish it could have lasted a couple of hours.

Loved the Keith Moon story  ;D

Now if only Mick will run with Howard's suggestion and finally perform 'Let It Loose'

Enjoyed it but it was too short. Mick was fairly loose but Stern could
have gotten him to loosen up even more if he had more time.
And speaking of loose.....maybe Let it Loose will finally make the setlist!!
Also enjoyed Howard being a nervous, humble fan boy, refreshing change from his recent liberal woke snob persona.

Listened to this 2 more times.
Such a joy to listen to.

I really enjoy hearing Jagger genuinely laugh/chuckle without his typical guarded lip puckering and smirk.
He even laughs at himself a few times.
The Keith Moon story really had him cracking up as he recalled the incident.

(With knife in hand)"YOU'RE NOT KEITH...YOU'RE NOT KEITH!!"
"WAIT! It me, KEITH MOON!!"
Imagine what may have happened...they would still laugh about it.

The entire fan boy questions concerning "Let It Loose" is hilarious and bewildering...
Jagger's reaction..."we can certainly play this..." he even starts humming/singing along with the first couple of lines...

Why has it never been played? "It's never been brought up"...There are just so many things wrong with that answer...LOL

I cant wait for the next time...
I am sure there will be one or two...maybe next time with Keef...if they move the show to the afternoon again, it may happen.

I dont believe MICK would be doing the interview with Stern on the same day as the concert in Tampa. Howard has a new studio in Palm Beach which is not close to Tampa at all. Unless its virtual or pre=recorded.
