Title: Hello!!
Post by StonedInStatenIsland on Mar 8th, 2020 at 7:28am
Hello all, my name is Anthony, I'm from Staten Island (duh) and I've been a Stones fan since around eight years old, when my dad played me "Hot Rocks" for the first time. However, my fandom didn't really kick into high gear until 40 Licks came out and gave me a more concise and versatile overview of their career thus far; from there on in I made it a point to get every recording I could get my hands on.

I first saw them on the 40 Licks tour in 2003, when they did the HBO special at Madison Square Garden. 17 years later, this is still a top 3 concert for me and one of my greatest experiences. I next saw them at the old Giants Stadium in 2005, also a great show, and most recently at Met Life 2 last August, where I was blown away and even moved at how incredibly powerful and sharp they still sounded 57 years into their career.

My favorite albums are the 1968-72 run and "Some Girls," my favorite songs are "Gimme Shelter," "Brown Sugar," and "Rocks Off." I collect tons of live bootlegs and have read several books on the band. I joined so I could find a formidable community to discuss my healthy obsession with the band and its history.

Good to be here, good to be anywhere.

I have been waiting for that since I joined on 2005...all we have here are Paris Hilton pee-pee jokes, (ok, maybe not so much anymore) bizarre references to Omaha NE, and an obscure obsession with Emotional Rescue (40th Anniversary this year!!!!).

There is also a strange cult following for someone named "Joey". Someone tried to explain it to me once but it was the nite that I was dosed with Rohypnol in Buffalo (or was it Mexico City?) and it didn't help any...

Anyway, I hope you find whatever it is you are looking for.
Welcome StonesInRichmondCounty!!!

What shows are you hitting up on the 27th leg of NO FILTER?
There's always a party to meet up at...

OOOPS! We did it again...(What ever happened to our adoration of Britney?)

Seems like we scared off SISI rather quickly.
I truly hope that is NOT the case.
